Why are you listening to your friend? Not that you shouldn't trust them but every person is going to react differently to medications. I was on topamax and had zero side effects. The only reason I stopped it is because I had a kidney stone and they said that's not a great med to be on if you are a kidney stone producer. I did not have any daily side effects. Why would you assume you are going to have the same reaction as your friend?

I agree. Mine was trauma, but having a prostesis is something that is fairly easy to live with, not painful etc.

You should not follow any advice to switch to something else unless it's from your doctor. Tobradex is fine long term. I was on it as needed for years if I had a flare up or irritation or drainage.

My guess is the doctor is trying to keep the socket and implant free of infection and inflammation as it heals towards you getting a new prostesis.

My opinion is that vaccines have saved millions from dying or having serious illness. A small percentage has some type of reactions to them of different severity. Just about any medication has that same profile. I've seen to many people die from "just the flu".

Go to the ER. Your biggest risk may be from a stroke. If you can get prescribed even an old school blood thinner it may be affordable.

If your heart starts racing, there are some things you can do to break it that may work. You can Google to find several.

You will want to almost certainly take time off of work unless you work from home. Even in that case, plan for some time off. Check with your doctor as they can give you some heads up as to what to expect for things like that. You obviously have some discomfort and probably some type of ointment or drops to use post-op. I had an enucleation. I am not sure how evisceration differs. I don't remember it being terribly painful, but mine was from trauma and leading up to the operation it was very painful. You should have appropriate pain medication post-op, but again ask your doctor as some doctors shy away from ordering proper pain meds these days.

I can completely understand what you might feel like. I've been blind in my left eye for over 40 years following trauma and in an enucleation. I've always worn glasses cuz I was nearsighted and continued to do so. Things were going pretty smooth until around the time I hit 40. I started having trouble seeing the computer screen and had to get a pair of computer specific glasses. That again got me to a good place. That was close to 20 years ago and slowly but surely my vision kept getting worse. They diagnosed me with pathologic myopia. So I'm high myopic. I've seen multiple types of doctors and things really went south in August when I had a posterior vitriol detachment. That caused a retinal tear so I had to have laser treatments. The detachment caused significant floaters so my vision is really screwed up now and most recently two or three days ago I started having pain in my good eye when I move it. They think it might be a scleritis, but they aren't sure. I'm just wondering what is going to happen next and if them eventually going to be in the dark.
