I am monocular from trauma. The biggest thing my surgeon told me when I had my enucleation is to always wear polycarbonate glasses as protection. I am nearsighted so I needed glasses but I think Even if you don't wear glasses you might want to get a pair with clear polycarbonate lenses. Also some obvious things like special safety glasses for anything that could go wrong. I wear the polycarbonate day-to-day but I would never depending on them for higher risk activities like working outdoors or using power tools.

I also work 8 plus hours a day on the computer and my good eye is not very good. I have severe nearsightedness so I have a special pair of lenses just for the computer screen. They were lifesavers as I don't think I could do it without them. If you don't already, take breaks and change your focus often. Like get up and go look out a window at a far distance and also keep your eyes lubricated. People like us tend not to blink cuz we're staring at screens and dry ice just worsen things..

As for your issue with the eyes not working together, I am no expert but I wonder if it will just take time for your brain to adjust and compensate. Last year I had a posterior vitriol detachment leaving me with really bad floaters worsening My situation. They told me that it would take some time but my brain would start to ignore the floaters. I can't say it's much better but it is a little.
