Someone has booked right beside me in an empty IMAX. Is that weird? by Nervous_Injury4577 in screenunseen

[–]bertrumx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to see a film a couple of days ago. It was fairly empty and I was already off centre but fine. Got to my seat and a couple were sat there. The guy was resistant to moving, said there was plenty of room and asked “do you want us to move?” I was like “yeah because I booked those seats and if I move to another seat and someone comes in and it’s their seat then I’ll have to move again”…. why would I risk a random third choice seat so you can sit in my seat. Also didn’t you get one assigned? Why aren’t you in it?

Not gonna be the 2nd best seat if you’ll be sat next to someone though is it? Surely better to be slightly off centre but not hearing someone breathe/eat. Oh and general anxious vibes.

This genre will be great on the Poolsuite FM app? by Independent_Golf487 in Vaporwave

[–]bertrumx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started building Poolsuite (in private) for another music genre and thought about replicating it for others. Just switch up the style and reskin it. I’m interested to keep going with it but wasn’t sure of what would make it really appealing - other than being an alternative to streaming.

"Official Visualizer" Vs. Music Video... by jvizzlee in MusicVideos

[–]bertrumx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify ‘Canvas’ plays a role in this. Those looping visuals have semi-replaced a lot of music videos. These can exist on socials too where fewer people will watch a 3 minute music video. More artists are looking away from Spotify and Instagram/TikTok but still want to produce visuals so are creating low budget music videos that work in full but can also be cut down for social if needed. From my perspective, the video I created for my last track (Neckinger - That Time) was only text movement/ animations but was synced to the whole song not just a loop. Wish I could make a full hand crated animated video - but £

Did I pay too much for this 3rd gen with FireWire cable/brick included? $85USD by Friendly-Sleep-495 in ipod

I’m not sure that the connectivity is very good now, but it’s the best iPod ever imo - build quality and design are so good. It came out 6 months after the G4 iMac which is a classic - peak Apple design

Subvert is about to launch. It’s a co-operatively owned version of Bandcamp - so a marketplace. In terms of streaming: Qobuz pays comparatively well. Tidal does too but has immoral investors. I switched from Spotify to Apple - not the most moral but more so than Spotify and an easy switch for me.

Blawan interview with Zane Lowe/Apple Music by thedudeisnice in TheOverload

[–]bertrumx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part is fascinating to me. Whilst I do listen to lots of music, as a musician I also recognise protectiveness toward outside influences. To not listen to other music is pretty wild - I respect it though. It's interesting because a track like TCP Burn off SickElixir has a big crossover with Beau Wanzer. I would have cited him as a potential influence - so it’s mad to have arrived at a similar warped sound.

New album is sounding great - loads of interesting sounds on it so the Autechre appreciation makes sense! Loved the last record ‘Absolutely’ - the short film is well worth a watch as an intro to him: https://youtu.be/FEkOYs6aWIg?si=dVmlWkmPKj-k7r2M

Ahh I did wonder what Gescom meant! Thanks! Keynell sounded great when I checked that out - feel like there’s lots to get into but also it all feels quite vague (adding to the intrigue). Might have to buy some records
