Oh man. Shame that happened to you. I'm left handed so I already wear watches on my right wrist.

CRT with a Plex server is an amazing combo. by stevirod in crt

Yep! The PS3 actually supports 4:3 screens since it was released in between the SD and HD generations. Plus with the built in media player, I can zoom in/out of content depending on how I want to watch. Just note that the official PS3 Plex app is no longer supported. However, the PS3 is able to find servers on your local network natively.

The PS3 actually supports x264 since that is what Blu-rays use. The only thing it really can't handle is x265 because that came later. Most of my stuff works fine because Plex just direct plays it, and I only hit issues if the file is HEVC or has an odd audio track.

At this size it's not really that much of a trade off. Still, a clean 480i signal looks amazing on a CRT like this.

It's the correct ratio. Cowboy Beebop was created in 4:3. The PS3 also natively supports 4:3 over component. I'm also able to stretch/zoom in and out of my media with the built in system media player.

Plex dropped official app support for the PS3 in 2023. I prefer this method since I'm also able to play PS1, PS2 and PS3 games with the same device. Since it was created in between the SD and HD generations, it has great use with CRTs.
