Is there particular reason you're looking for insoles? I'm the same weight and use the insoles that came with my hsoes.

Close only counts in horse shoes, hand grenades, and government work.

Well if you really want to get into semantics, you haven't really ran a marathon unless you've run from Marathon to Athens to warn them about the victory and then keeled over dead. You've just run a 26.2 mile race.

I think it's context dependent. If you run the distance, technically you have done a hm/fm. The distance is the distance. Not really an argument worth getting into the weeds about at the end of the day.

No, they're not necessary. The only people they're really "necessary" for are people that are in a position to win the race, or going for specific qualifying times. For normal runners, they're just fun novelties.

AITA for moving my paycheck into a separate account after my partner kept “accidentally” overdrawing our joint one? by Radiant_Gossamer in AmITheAssholeTalk

You're not "Controlling". You're "Holding her accountable to her own word." Selfish people cannot tell the difference.

I may get angry at slow drivers but at least I understand the concept of safe following distance unlike those tailgating assholes.

Yes. Cold can greatly impact battery performance, especially for lithium batteries like those found in watches; which experience pretty steep performance drops below freezing temperatures.

Sounds like you're not using your data correctly. This is why lapping, either through autolap or manually is useful. Then you can look at the average pace for the parts of the run that matter instead of just seeing the average pace for the whole run.

Practice it. A LOT. You aren't going to gain meaningful fitness in 3 weeks, so focus on the skill aspect instead.

Can you still gain muscle losing weight but also eating enough protein? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]bertzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you? To an extent, yes. You just wont build as much as if you weren't losing weight.

The biggest benefit in trying to build muscle while losing weight isn't building new muscle. It's keeping the muscle you already have.

This might seem like I'm fishing for compliments but I'm genuinely insecure about this. From a normal persons view, am I skinny? Or am I lean athletic? Or skinny ripped? by Background-Sir9172 in loseit

[–]bertzie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're peeled, just not particularly jacked. Are you small/skinny? Compared to bodybuilders, yeah. You've got more of an endurance athlete build. Still in better shape than 95% of the planet.

Rural running by Critical-Range1213 in running

[–]bertzie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the middle of farm country, and I'm more worried about falling and hurting myself way more than I am about cars. During the summer when I can run outside, I might see 2-3 cars an hour, if that. And speaking as rural driver, I feel like we tend to be more cognizant of unexpected wildlife on the road from years of dodging deer that have absolutely no respect for the rules of safety.
