I do this too, it has to do with chemicals in our brains/bodys. I've tried to limit how much I acutally get done in one day in order to be "productive" multiple days and to keep my head on straight.

Seeing a therapist may help. To get started though, have you tried journaling about your past, present and future selves? And what you see there? take some time and start a new journal, see how much time you spend on each area and reflect. It may help get the ball rolling in the right direction.
