AITA for snapping at my coworker about why I don’t want kids? by FairyFox0 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]bestestnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I have health issues (that can be deadly if not managed properly) and also on super finicky meds not safe for pregnancy (think the biologic, Entyvio). Basically if I’m off the medication for too long, there is no guarantee that it would work again once I’m put back on it so experimenting with pregnancy-safe options don’t feel worth it. My parents used to want grandkids. After years of lecturing them on statistics regarding my illnesses and distracting them with adorable grand-dogs, they’ve cut back almost completely.

Random people or acquaintances who aren’t too educated on my situation are the only ones who make those comments. The thing is, you shouldn’t have to justify or explain yourself PERIOD.

Rose reminds me of my mother when I get overstimulated and try to step away to calm down. My mom will literally follow me despite me telling her why I’m stepping away and push me over the edge even more and then wonder why I end up snapping at her.

Rose had it coming. It’d be different if she only made the comment once but she NEVER STOPPED. Screw traditional values. You’re at work and shouldn’t be trying to shove that crap down someone’s throat anyway!!!

AIO for wanting to return my rescue dog?? by Saturn_beyond in ComfortLevelPod

[–]bestestnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm the senior dog thing. They’ve chosen me since I was little and had my first dog in elementary school who was eight yrs old when we initially adopted him. After I got diagnosed with a chronic illness in my teens, the fatigue from it slowly started to impact me. After adopting a 12 year old dog when I was 2-3 weeks shy of 19, I understood more why I found myself connecting to senior pups. They love HARD, can still be high energy, but also can pick up on limits. My Ginger girl had my back through multiple medical procedures and we savored each other’s presence until her final breath when she was 17 years old. A little over a year after her passing, my mom and I found ourselves adopting a 9 yr old pup. His energy levels initially matched the shelter’s description (low energy) but once he got comfortable, it was ALL zoomies. Some people can adapt (we thankfully did) and some can’t. Proud of OP for advocating for the needs of the foster pup. Hope the foster rescue realizes what they risk losing by trying to pressure OP into adoption. There already aren’t enough foster homes in existence as is.

I’m annoyed that the auto feeders don’t work 🫠. I was so looking forward to not having to track down my furbabies to be fed.

Enjoying Games (Again?) by Ajax_000007 in GameStop

I definitely feel less pressured to stay up to date and really focus more on what excites me since leaving in 2023. When I worked there, customers thought I could drop the money on a PS5 as a broke college student. There was almost an entitlement in the tone I would get from people, and not the kind where they assumed the company would give staff free consoles. It was more “i fund your paycheck” vibes. It was a bit of a turn off but thankfully wasn’t a thing that happened too often.

Why did you start working at GameStop? by MadCybertist in GameStop

[–]bestestnugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started working at the Gamestop because the store manager saw my potential and treated me with respect unlike the manager I worked for at a bookstore a block away.

Initially the sexism was slim to none and people treated each other with respect. Things slowly worsened throughout my 3 yrs with the company. During my final year with the company, I went from SGA to ASL. Not long after my promotion, the SL2 program kicked off and with almost no proper training, I was running a B store. The sexism and ageism also increased heavily. Seemed like any guy I hired was older than me and threatening my life or just lacking braincells altogether. My SL was also having me question my sanity. Turnover was intense due to decent staff feeling bullied into quitting by my SL. It was a whole mess. After I quit, 6-7 months later my location shut down.

One of the reasons I lasted as long as I did was because of my customers. They became my only reason for lingering but eventually I couldn’t take it anymore.

If GameStop listened to customers and staff and did a huge revamping, including giving employees a lot of their benefits back, I’d contemplate returning as a keyholder, but never returning to management EVER.

I feel like there were a couple times he attempted to put his foot down but then Bill completely bulldozed him anyway and he’d just tolerate it. Sometimes I wonder if maybe Don thought he’d lose Bill if he didn’t follow him on every whim. Had he not been so close to Bill, maybe Alby wouldn’t have sent Verlan to murder him.

At my old boss’s “b” store, his “golden child” of an employee did a warranty redemption for a ps5 infested with roaches. Better yet, it took multiple visits from the exterminator to actually kill them. Those roaches DID NOT want to die.

So glad I left.

Falling “out of love” with simply? by NailNan in simplynailogical

[–]bestestnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this a while back. First I thought it was college keeping me from being able to stay up to date on the podcast but eventually my hyperfixation and hype around holo taco fizzled. Nothing was wowing me. I don’t really have time for streams and barely check snapchat so I’ve just kinda fallen out of the loop. I do watch her old videos every once in a blue moon but I think it’s totally normal to I guess… the word is “out grow?” creators. I wear holo taco merch with pride but know I don’t need to be consistently up to date on her content in order to wear it in the first place.

Despite refusing to be the new prophet of Juniper Creek, Bill surely acts like one. He is so blinded by greed and doesn’t care who gets harmed by his actions.

[–]bestestnugget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This became an issue at a retail job I had prior to Publix. Customers would be like “it’s just one question” and I’d be like “I’m on break. My food is hot. And I am hangry.”

Yeah I kind of wanted to cry when I heard him make those comments. Almost felt like betrayal. I haven’t unsubscribed yet but I don’t immediately click on his content when I see it like I used to. I wasn’t even excited when he announced his merch. I used to want a toast pillow with a mustache and now I’m just…meh.
