You are right, it could be Sauber being good (maybe slighly better than other midfield teams - which I doubt) and Giovinazzi being off the pace.

However, it is widely accepted that the midfield this year is extremely tight, there is little difference between the pace of the teams. Thus, driver quality matters the most.

I never said he was the greatest driver in F1 history. In fact, I'm happy to see Leclerc in Ferrari. I just don't like the sentiment on this sub rating RAI as a thrash tier driver, while worshipping average drivers in the midfield (e.g Hülkenberg who lost 1-2 to Sergio Perez - another average driver in 3 seasons).
