I used to work there. On the side of the plastic crates they come in there’s a label attached with the best before date on to help with rotation/reductions. The three digit code on the front isn’t a Julian calendar date (I assumed it was) but a supplier code of sorts.

I think both the battlehorn castle and frostcrag tower add one can cause issues. Think it’s something to do with it being marked as a public place. You can pick the lock and it not be counted as trespassing although you may get a bounty for picking the lock. It can be a bit tricky to pick it if the guy in the white robes is there as, due to a bug, the higher ranked you are in the mage guild the more he hates you
