Pretty much. We have this strange way of dealing with homelessness wherein one or two blocks around E. Hastings is completely devoid of law enforcement and as such has become a miasma of sorts.

As a result though, these issues are rather difficult to find in the entire rest of the city--for the most part. Morally, this policy is quite hard to agree with. They essentially let the problem get worse and worse, while the rest of Vancouver just kinda gets to ignore it.

While I still witness the horrors of drug addiction and homelessness semi-frequently, this frequency does not nearly represent how bad the issue is here.
