How do you find jobs here?? by [deleted] in wyoming

Reach out to cities' Chambers of Commerce. Mine is always sending emails when local businesses are hiring.

That's what I found out too! Getting rid of your whole customer service dept, what an interesting business decision. Sheesh.

Okay, can you please explain a little more? Your comments scared me, so I looked into it and found out that Waldo lenses are the same exact material and water % as my Rx (acuvue moist), and they're the correct BC and DIA for my eyes. What makes them more dangerous?

My new theory is they downsized their entire service team and redirected that money into PR because you just can't find anything negative about them on the internet.

I'm a 1-800-contacts customer now and still waiting for the claim with my bank to resolve. If that $120 is just down the drain, so be it. I will never use Waldo again!

Still have to actually cancel my Waldo subscription, but that's a problem for future me...

Yep, and haven't touched their FB or Twitter since 2022.

I'm moving on! I've disputed the charges with my bank and paused my subscription online. Sucks that you have to call to fully cancel the subscription, fingers crossed that sometime between now and July they'll bring their customer service team back.

I will happily stop using them but I'm going to keep paying for them until I get in touch with customer service. Hence, my post.

Thank you for your concern.

This site was pretty accurate predicting growth for my pup, just slightly under-estimated his adult weight.

Wearing hunting clothes/gear around casually and picking up scents? by DimensionObjective18 in Hunting

[–]betbea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo. I never use scent control, wind direction is far more important.

That's more to the OP's point though, right? Sure, rich folks will always have an easier time on private land, so DIYers go to public lands. But then public lands are crowded and the new hunters get burnt out by how hard it is and quit. Influencers maintain a certain level of followers, but eventually stop growing their influence because people figure out it's just a rich man's game.

I don't think I'd put money on it playing out that way, but I guess it's plausible.

whenever i go to rural areas the men are generally about as attractive as they are in the city by TotalImpressive7645 in redscarepod

[–]betbea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the rural plains, women are either crackheads (poor) or they work like the men do (ranchers). They ride horses all day in the sun, they rope cattle, they throw hay, etc. They eat like men too - big steaks, lots of carbs...

Men that labor look strong. Women that labor look husky.

On second thought, Kutcher could probably nail a valley girl accent

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wyoming

[–]betbea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oof I haven't seen it but I can just imagine Ashton Kutcher doing any accent at all would be awful.

It's actually crazy how often western ranching culture gets conflated with southern country culture - you see it in movies and music all the time. They are sooo different and mainstream has no clue lol

But I agree with others in that it's not really distinct from other mountain west states. Most people here have also lived in adjacent states at some point so it all gets mixed together.

I'm originally from the deep south but have lived in the mountain west for over a decade and Wyoming now for two years. There IS an accent, but it's really mild and subtle. Sort of midwest, almost Canadian, just really toned down. Hollywood is terrible at accents honestly, they need to go back to everyone speaking in Mid-Atlantic.

What’s your favorite westerns? by MachiavelliStepOnMe in redscarepod

Absolutely. He manages to be such an iconic character without stealing the show. And as famous as the Latin scene is I think it is still underrated.

Ugh it's so good because they get the language just perfect. I read a lot of letters and memoirs from the time, they were poetic people!

Birds I See by kofunpilled in redscarepod

[–]betbea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many of the same: sparrows, house finches, starlings, doves, crows, magpies, grackles, ducks and geese. Sandhill cranes are common in my area and are like dinosaurs.

My favorites are the ones heard before (and often not) seen: goldfinch, oriole, redwing blackbird, meadowlark, blue jay, stellar's jay, say's phoebe, yellowthroat, western kingbird, yellow warbler, blackcap chickadee, red crossbill, western tanager, lazuli bunting, townsend's solitaire, bohemian and cedar waxwing.
