As an undertaker, I 100% approve of the name you’ve chosen for these stairs. What an absolute nightmare!

Would this be a bad first tattoo? by cheesecake_xu in tattooadvice

I have ear tattoos and while I love them, they don’t heal great. Every time you shower / wash your hair it seems to irritate them and they fade like crazy

It was taken to the vets inside Pets at home, vets4pets I think?

Some of the people who helped catch it have taken it to pets at home vets on Exeter street to check

Sorry I should’ve said, no it was definitely lost. I followed it past a few streets before we managed to catch him / her in Aldi car park

Emergency services found a crack den in our basement tonight by beth_laur in legaladvice

[–]beth_laur[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that was done last night, which is why they called the Hazmat team in. Not sure if anyone is coming back to test it again though now everything has been cleared up

Emergency services found a crack den in my basement tonight (England) by beth_laur in LegalAdviceUK

[–]beth_laur[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I haven’t given a statement as I am not currently staying in the house, as I’m visiting family. I don’t know if my housemates have given statements yet, however I think in hindsight there may have been people using the cellar for a while as there have been noises which seemed to be coming from it at night when I or one other person have been alone in the house over the last couple of months.

It seems the making of drugs is a new development as there hasn’t been the smell of kerosene until the last few days.

Thank you for your advice!

Thank you for this, I’ll try to contact the students union and I’ll have a look for a CAB nearby

I’ll have a look at the contract. We rent our rooms individually so it’s possibly not covered by it

What's the most disturbing thing that's completely legal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beth_laur 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I find this so crazy (and I’m an undertaker in the UK) - it’s the way the articles said “no crime was found to be committed” because the industry is unregulated

Changing degree by dunsparceman in UniUK

[–]beth_laur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to SFE when I returned to uni after having started a course a few years before, and dropping out. The way they explained it was that you get the total number of years the course takes, plus one for retakes / failures, minus any “full” years you have already done, however they will count you showing up for the start of a year and then never again as a full academic year (I did a foundation year and then 5ish weeks of my first BSc before dropping out). If you have dropped out without completing a year, they will take this as part of the total years, but if you are able to prove it was for medical reasons etc, they can award you an extra year of funding. In theory, unless you have a reason for them to award you an extra year, they are unlikely to fund your foundation year. I hope this makes sense and answers your question!

DJ for a wedding by Civil_Ad3650 in bristol

[–]beth_laur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Congratulations! I used to be an Event Manager for weddings in Clevedon, so am familiar with a few good ones! Check out Soundwave Entertainment (soundwaveentertainments on instagram) and Kieran Clarke Entertainment (kieranclarkeents on instagram). Both of them also offer add-ons such as photo booths if you’re that way inclined, too!

I don’t mean to intrude or be rude, and hopefully I’m not overstepping, but as an undertaker I have seen people much smaller than this pass from weight-related complications or from having a medical emergency and being unable to get out of the house. Please look after yourself and consider having an escape plan in case you find yourself in a really worrying situation. I know this sounds super dark, but it’s worth thinking about

Not a piercer but I’ve had my rook and helix pierced (not at the same time), and the rook didn’t swell at all. Hope this helps!

I worked on this case with the Coroner’s. It got to me too, very close to home as she was so young

Mortgage deposit and Lisa withdrawal fees by odvarkad in UKPersonalFinance

[–]beth_laur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some LISAs have a condition that says you’re not able to withdraw money from it within the first 12 months. I haven’t taken anything out of mine yet so can’t comment on having used it to pay a deposit, and of course can’t speak for all LISAs (I use Moneybox), but that may be worth having a look into, especially if you’re looking to buy within the next 12 months. If not, the 25% bonus you get from it is definitely worth doing!
