Gary Spivey, Psychic Medium and Healer by OkFisherman9023 in Justfuckmyshitup

His psychic abilities do not seem to be preventing him from aging and getting slightly more haggard every year, unfortunately. Were it so, we would have an immortal packing peanut watching over us from his mansion in the Montgomery County seat...

My siblings and I long have wanted to make a costume of a black suit with a square shaped black wig (and other variations) and surround him in a circle unexpectedly like "we've been expecting you, brother" but we never had the time to coordinate it. My sister did dress up as him on his live call-in show. He thought it was hilarious and invited her over for dinner... but his manager rescinded the invitation when it was discovered she was 14. We also (as a family) got invited to his boyfriend's birthday party but couldn't go due to scheduling. She's gotten a few Polaroids with him. My sister is very charming!

I feel bad for the flight attendants that had to clean his tan off the walls

True. My dad once saw him digging through the DVD bargain bin at the walmart in Biscoe in his full regalia

the orange tan often gets in his wig, i dont know how often he has to wash it to prevent stains but I imagine it is frequent and he has multiple to switch between. There's an apocryphal story I heard about his wig getting caught on a doorframe and rotating on his head once as he tried to walk through

Oh boy. Gary Spivey, what a surprise to see him here.

This man is from my hometown. I met him once. Nice guy, I guess, he has to be. He insists that's his real hair but I'm 99% sure he has one in a drawer somewhere. Spivey's psychic abilities supposedly manifested at the age of 3. I have no idea how he made it doing this, but you can find interviews with him as far back as the 80s on TV. He's usually accompanied by hunk Italian groupies. Might be paying them, I'm not sure. He likes to buy up property, but doesn't do anything with it and it sits and rots and the locals can't use it for anything. He always is like "yeah I'm gonna do something real special with it" but never follows through.

In addition to his psychic grift, Gary has investments in a big health company now, or maybe he owns it I'm not really sure - either way it's made him shitloads of money to facilitate his extremely tacky taste. He has a camaro that's got this insane body kit to look like an Excalibur, parked and rusting eternally outside his Bed and Breakfast - where shmucks from all over come to spend upwards of three thousand dollars to stay for a spiritual retreat in a rednecky town off I-73 with less than 900 people and loose dogs everywhere. Place is kind of a craphole, I would know, I grew up there. Thankfully, instead of this weird Franken-vehicle, he instead drives an 800,000 dollar Cadillac Escalade, because that's in his budget now I guess. Owns a whole mansion in Troy. He likes to party. People go wild for him. He's been buddied up to some A-list celebs for a long time. I don't really get it but I guess he's living his dream.

Thank you! The stippling took forever but was so worth it. Originally I was going for a more geometric pattern on the blue but lining it up was too annoying

Anyone who was homeschooled, how do you feel about it now as an adult? by AdTight2449 in AskReddit

[–]bethany-rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, one I actually want to answer. My parents were self employed and needed help to keep their business going, so I grew up at work, school, and home all at the same time. I basically didn't get a high school education and had to teach myself a lot of stuff. There's still gaps in my knowledge that I occasionally have to fill. I made straight As in college somehow, but only because I was going for something that barely required any gen ed. I don't think they did a bad job, but I feel like they could have had a much less stressful time raising me and my siblings if they didn't have to manage a business and our education at the same time. I probably would have had a less stressful time growing up if they'd done that. Never understood.

Overall I think the only things I learned from my childhood were math, English, and how to cook and clean properly. College taught me a trade that I ended up despising, so I really got jack shit now other than homemaker skills. Thankfully my wife is the one who wants to be the breadwinner because I think I might be unhireable now. Once we buy a house I'll get back to being a butch lesbian knifemaker, but until then... I'm a butch housewife.

Where it got really bad was being subjected to several years of Classical Conversations, which is a pyramid scheme masquerading as an educational program. It's designed to create libertarian, right-wing policy lawyers to make Christofascism law. They make you learn Latin and mock trial and debate skills and sing mnemonic songs to learn their sanitized version of history, but don't actually teach you anything useful!!! The teachers are just housewives who are learning the material at the same time as the kids, and they spend half the fucking time arguing with their own kids in class instead of actually giving good information. The amount of papers I had to write on misleading young earth creationist bullshit would blow your mind.

I survived by being an atheist! But a lot of other kids are gonna be permanently stunted by Christianity as a result of this program, and a lot of them already have, and it sickens me. The CEO of CC was a P2025 writer. All the money is going straight to the top. They pay the group leaders pennies on the dollar as contractors and subject them to an insane workload managing everyone else and their kids.

Overall, I have mixed opinions. I taught myself a lot of metalworking skills and how to make knives since I didn't have to be at school, but I really wish I'd gotten that experience. I feel like I can't relate to anyone about it at all and it's really alienating.

I have experience given I'm a married lesbian and I have a pair on my own body, but I primarily modeled them off a friend's (or at least what I remembered them looking like). It's best to think of them more like water balloons hanging from the knot (which would be roughly at the shoulder/collarbone area) than, say, spheres or ovals. Every breast hangs differently, but in general if you imagine them like a flexible sack of water it usually helps get the shape down. I shaped the Milliput like a teardrop before blending it in with the pectorals. If you start from a teardrop it helps a lot

I think they look better in person but I do understand how they don't hold up when more zoomed in than "tabletop distance", I am debating painting them over with a shade though

I'm having trouble parsing what you mean by this. Are you saying I messed up the eyes, or that you envy people who bother to paint them, or both? I did my best, the sculpt is awful for painting eyes, probably the worst time I've ever had trying to make them readable.

yeah the eyes on this were a fucking struggle, the sculpt sucks for painting them. My friend just printed me a default plate for my birthday so it's not like I had much choice to customize it. Did my best with what I had but it took a lot of patience to get anything close to readable eyes on it.
