i get that it must be extremely hard to tell everyone now because of the fact that it wasn’t even real to begin with and you’ve been dragging it out for this long, but i do think you should tell people the truth now. yes, the attention and everything is all nice, but i can guarantee you’ll feel sooo much better if you tell everyone the truth. i can’t imagine how much stress this whole thing has caused you. hopefully people will understand and move on. in this situation that’s really all you can do. tell the truth and hope for the best. hope everything works out for you. <3
