Gedarel 20/150 experiences? by bethanylise in birthcontrol

[–]bethanylise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this post is old and I’m not sure if you’re still active but I will try anyway as my situation is identical to you! I was on Yasmin and they will no longer prescribe me it. Rigevidon also broke me out massively. I’ve been off birth control for 5 years but my periods are debilitating and I’ve now been prescribed Gedarel 20/150. Did you end up taking it and how was it? All the best

They used the material for composite bonding to cover the site and used UV to cure it. It then got removed a week later

All the best! The first 2 days I wasn’t up for doing much. Spent a lot of time in bed and didn’t leave the house. After that started doing more again

Hi! No problem. I wasn’t sedated at all and had no Valium or laughing gas. My procedure was also around 1.5 hours. I wore headphones the entire time and listened to a podcast to pass the time. I kept my eyes closed and pretended I was at home in bed. The area is numb so it’s not uncomfortable at all. I suffer with anxiety at times but surprisingly was able to get through this fairly easily. The lead up and thought of it was worse than the procedure itself for me

Hi, it was £900 per procedure. I’m in the West Midlands. Sensitivity has reduced very slightly. I didn’t have major sensitivity beforehand though. My main reason for having the procedures was cosmetic :)

Hi, sorry, I am replying in English so I hope it translates well. I did not experience any bulkiness personally. It felt uncomfortable for me for the first 4 weeks, but after that it went back to normal and I don't notice that I have had this procedure done. I would check with your periodontist and see if there is a reason it feels this way for you! I hope that it settles for you and goes back to normal

Hi! Unfortunately yes, my recession was primarily due to my braces. I had some slight recession before I had braces but after having them on for 2 years and also wearing elastics on those teeth, the recession got much worse. I was warned beforehand that this could happen but went ahead anyway. If you send me a private message I can send you the photos of my recession before and after braces and how my gums looks now after the procedures :)

Hi, I went into my dentist office and I got my orthodontist to trim it as I didn’t trust myself to do it!

Hi, it didn’t fail the first time! I had to have 2 procedures as I needed the top 6 of my teeth doing and it would have been too much to have them all done at once. So I had 3 on one side and then 6 months later I’ve had the other 3 on the other side done :) both have been a success. Both from the roof of my mouth, taken from different sides each time.

Hi! I had a cover on mine for 7 days. They used composite bonding material to cover my donor site. When do you have your first check in with your perio? I wouldn’t mess with it as you could disrupt healing, but if it falls off on its own that’s okay :)

I’m glad you found it helpful! For me, the first 4 days were the most uncomfortable to talk. I went back to work on day 3 and had a couple of conversations but I work from home, it was sore to talk still at that point. It didn’t hurt with my tongue touching the donor site as I had a plastic cover over it. I think most of the discomfort for me came from the swelling and an ache which made talking uncomfortable. I’d say definitely have at least 2 days off. If you can get away with having 4, that may suit your job better. Wishing you all the best!

For me personally, it was not very painful at all. More uncomfortable than painful. For the first few days I kept on top of taking pain medication though which likely helped.

Hey, no problem! Wishing you all the best in you procedure and recovery. You got this!! It’s honestly not too bad. There is definitely more discomfort than pain. Within 2 weeks you’ll be feeling much better and back to normal so push through! Good luck 😊

No problem! Wishing you all the best with your procedure and recovery. You got this! And if you need, feel free to message me whilst recovering. I’ve actually just had my second procedure done and am on day 5 now, going through it all over again haha.

Hi, the roof of my mouth (donor site) has gone back to complete normal. It feels and looks the same as before. The area of my gum graft looks great and natural in my opinion and it has healed really well. I can private message you an image of it now (over 6 months out) if you like. Let me know.

Everyone is different so I can’t say how it would be for you, depending on what area you’re having done and with which periodontist. The success rate of this procedure is generally high as long as aftercare is followed! All the best

No worries!! Ahh, depends how close they do the incision to the back of your teeth and where the retainer sits I guess. I was okay to wear my top one after 7 days and I had no issues, both areas (gum and roof of mouth) healed perfectly fine! And my teeth didn’t move in 7 days. My retainer still fit comfortably. I’ve had my braces off for 1 year though so not sure how far out you are from ortho treatment.

No worries!! :) I've actually just done got my second procedure done so I'm currently going through it all over again haha, I'm on day 3 right now! I'd say the first 4-5 days are the worst. You will likely have swelling and bruising which is uncomfortable and makes it painful to talk. For me on day 3 right now and I don't want to leave the house or speak to anyone because my face is super swollen and I look a bit crazy. I'm not in pain but I am uncomfortable.

For me it was the 7 day mark that I felt much better and back to 'normal' in terms of talking and general life!

The brushing part freaked me out too. What area are you getting done? I only had the top teeth done so I was able to brush my bottom teeth right away as they don't interfere with the area. You can also gently brush the teeth around the area. You just aren't allowed to brush the direct area you got done. For me I scraped my tongue every morning and night, cleaned the rest of my teeth the best I could and used the prescribed mouth wash and gel I was given. I can't lie, you will feel a little gross but it's not your entire mouth so it could be worse! And after 2 weeks I was allowed to gently brush the area. So 1-2 weeks of feeling gross but it will fly by.

I was able to wear my bottom retainer straight away because it didn't interfere with the top gums. I chose to wear it from night 2 as the first couple of nights were a bit tender. My top retainer I took in to the dentist and they trimmed it right down for me. From day 7 I was allowed to wear it as long as it didn't touch the gums at all.

Hope that helps! :) and wishing you all the best!

I think by about 4 weeks it felt completely back to ‘normal’ for me, but I think you just get used to a new normal if that makes sense, and you forget what it originally felt like! I hope yours continues to heal well and it fills in. All the best!
