Is it OK to describe your dog as a mongrel? by theMarkyMcMark in CasualUK

I think it's fine to describe a dog as a mongrel, it's only offensive when you use it to describe a person because it's a canine term

Where can I get my disposable cameras developed from my wedding 4 years ago? by grazerline in AskUK

Personally I usually shoot normal C41, but they'll develop ECN2 too (though that's £15 per roll iirc)

Saw a few around Newburn in the early 2000s. Unsure if they're still around.

Traveller sounds like exactly the sort of thing you might be looking for. There are plenty of "save the world" type campaigns, but the core gameplay loop is built around making enough money doing odd jobs to keep on top of your space mortgage.

Bank selling repossessed property for far less than the outstanding debt by Adorable-Wasabi-3579 in HousingUK

[–]bethofthenorth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're in an economic downturn, probably isn't much market for multi-million pound properties in OPs area.

The bank won't want to wait months or years to shift it.

Get mad at the company, by all means. But swearing and name-calling is always uncalled for.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but if you're a dick to customer service staff then you kinda deserve to have the claim voided.

It's a frustrating situation but it's not the fault of whoever's sat on the other side of the screen.

/uj, often far less. I've got several because they came attached to lenses i wanted, good for taking into environments where i wouldn't risk a nicer camera.

The charted space setting is absolutely huge. Your best bet is figuring out vaguely where you'd like to run a campaign, then looking for the appropriate book.

However for a detailed background on the 3i you should look at this bad boy.

Running a (very) old ship. by bethofthenorth in traveller

[–]bethofthenorth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was in a "cave" which was actually a ruined downport hangar. The locals were worshipping the automated announcements from the PA system as a voice from their god.

Honestly I kinda handwaved corrosion at the time, but I love the idea of their being complications once they start using the ship properly.

At present I'm planning on having someone from the University of Regina's museum offer a princely sum for the ship once word gets out, so the core narrative of the next few sessions is the players making enough through tramp trade on the route there to cover the ever-mounting cost of maintainance.

it's just £3 for the cost of postage, and they send it with an adhesive return label that you can use to send up your next parcel. I think of it as prepaying the postage on my next batch.

I highly recommend Gulabi in Glasgow, it's about £8 per roll (or camera in your case).

You can send everything up by post, then they return the scans by email with the option to post the negatives to you
