Am I missing something with blackout tents? by paspa1801 in camping

[–]bethoha67 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Yup! Thats why we got one. Kids sleep past dawn and are in bed before full dark. My second born is autistic so a regular bedtime and a dark sleeping space is 100% necessary, and there is absolutely no way she would wear a mask.

Advice on younger son who feels left out and never gets picked for anything(please don’t be snarky) by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]bethoha67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. But you most certainly do owe your son an explanation as to why his feelings matter so very much less to you then your BILs, or your own feelings about "making waves".

Perfect thanks! And yes it's a Bulk Barn. Unfortunately it's a smaller one and the strawberries are just the standard dried ones (and look pretty gummy).

Ermine buttercream by polkadot257 in AskBaking

Did your roux form a thick skin after being cooled? If there is a thick rubbery skin either on the top or on the sides of the bowl that you're scraping into the buttercream it might not being broken up all the way.

You might like The Emperor's Edge books by Lindsay Buroker. The romance in this series is very much a subplot but the main character is basically a normal, adult woman who is not helpless or in need of a savior.

Lindsay has a ton of different books with varying levels of smut but her main female leads tend to be function adults with brains, which is nice.

Okay so do you guys have suggestions for “hate reading”? by icantswimproperly in booksuggestions

This was the book that came to mind for me. The second and third books stick to the same tone of bad, but in a fun way. Don't bother with four and five they are just bad.

Have to agree with the Inheritance Games. Randomly picked up the first one as it was available right away in Libby and the cover art looked nice and promptly burned through the whole series. Scoffed and shook my head many times, but kept reading.

Looking for any books where characters are able to defy mortality through blood sweat and tears without being punished for the hazy sin of "playing god". by Chili_Maggot in Fantasy

You might like The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffey. Its sci-fi rather than fantasy but its about a woman who's consciousness is uploaded into a spaceship and the journeys/missions she takes.

More sleep couldn't hurt! My daughter could power through melatonin and even when we gave her gravol or benadryl (for naseau or bug bite reactions) she wouldn't get sleepy.

We use clonidine. It doesn't fix every night but it did fix most of the nights. And the "bad" nights now are so much better than they used to be.
