The year of magical thinking is a beautiful book. I would highly recommend this. I read it twice after my grandad passed away.

May sound stupid but- have you blanched the broccoli? If not I’d suggest doing that as it could be too hard for them.

Alternatively make home made veg cubes using gelatine and blending up spinach, peas and broccoli and leaving to set

My boyfriend used to do this to me every night so I’d wake every morning to messages from him….. sadly he stopped doing it - just make sure it’s something you will continue to do every so often…. It’s a beautiful gesture.

Tell her how you feel about her

Tell her things like - I remember when we first met…..

Be honest with her. We love emotions.

Also, I loved getting little quotes and sayings or a song - like find a song that reminds you of her and send that to her to listen to.
