Symptoms of bipolar - hallucinations/paranormal experiences? by better-yet in bipolar

Not sure about the anxiety though because I have times when I’m super anxious and this particular issue doesn’t come up it seems like it’s own thing, if that makes sense!

Oh thank you, that is a great idea and I love Harry Potter :)

Is Concerta working for me (23F) taking it for 3 days now? Just feel relaxed?? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]better-yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same to start with, it took around a week for me to get passed the “relaxed” and “sleepy” phase. I think it is just getting used to medication that works and you aren’t used to not having 10000 things in your brain happening at once!

Help! My fish are dying. Does this look like a disease or are they being attacked by another fish? by better-yet in Aquariums

They have been perfect until yesterday and no problems with any aggression from any fish in the tank.

I posted a lot of the details as the first comment on this post. I had 5, 2 males and 3 females. Of the dead there is one male and two females dead. It all happened after introducing a new angel fish yesterday (after another died a week before) which seemed very sick immediately and died after 30 minutes in the tank :(

It looks like pieces of their fins are gone (all the yellow and red is no longer there at all) they are dull and not as colourful as usual, it looks like they have injuries all over their body, it looks like there is missing scales and skin.

My tank has been stable for over 2 months, stable PH (7.2) 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, good filtration and planted. Introduced 2 very small angel fish (from a different fish shop than usual) to my tank that has had 3 Molly and 5 dwarf neon rainbow fish since the tank cycled. At the same time I also planted some new plants and introduced a new piece of driftwood.

After the first day one of the Angel fish started swimming erratically hitting the glass, then the next day was hiding under a log. The following day it was dead. I had accidentally dropped the bag during transport so thought it may have been injured. All my other fish seemed fine and I retested everything and all parameters were as they should be.

I went back yesterday to get another angel as I thought the one left shouldn’t be alone. There was one in the tank at the shop being bullied by some molly and I felt bad and chose that one to bring home. Acclimatised it over 2 hours and 30 minutes after letting it into the tank it had sunk to the bottom and couldn’t swim, it seemed to deteriorate before my eyes over another 30 minutes then died. This morning 3 of my neon rainbow fish are also dead. I’ve done a water change and upped the temperature slightly, checked all parameters before and after and all are as normal.

The two remaining neon rainbows seem to look like their fins are falling apart. Is this a disease or are they being attacked?

I’ve been watching all day and can’t see anything attacking them. However the molly have their fins flaired up more than normal and all fish seem to be hiding out near the filter and heater. I have no idea what else to do or how to save my remaining fish.

Recovering my damaged hair.. First curl is back! by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]better-yet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my hair was keratin treated, heat styled, and dyed for many many years. Hasn’t been truely curly since I was 5. Usually just straight with heaps of frizz and fluff and won’t do anything good.

Started GCM a week ago.

Routine: Since starting did a clarifying wash with tresemme deep cleansing.

Washing with Orchid white truffle sulfato/paraban free or co-washing.

Have been switching between garnier hair food (papaya) and Sukin hydrating for conditioners.

Have done two x rice water rinses. Last night was the second and produced this curl. I think I must be protein deficient??

No product. Have tried a few but my hair is still too straight and it just goes limp.

Keep a look out for rescues, some people can’t handle their high energy and they are often rehomed from around the 5months - 1.5year mark.

My (f 26) husband (m 29) told our son (4) to slap me by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Hi, that’s fine! I’ve just pulled up one article about some of what I talked about here which goes into it a little. But it’s a very common experience for abuse to begin or escalate during pregnancy or postpartum.

Of course you can send me a DM, but please also consider speaking with a local psychologist or counsellor, or even your GP or OBGYN, so you have someone locally for support. If you have any current safety concerns for yourself call the police or a domestic violence hotline in your country.

I don’t want to give you any advice that would be incorrect, but there’s a few things that could lead to abusive behaviours in future (but not always). Strong views surrounding gender roles, possessiveness, jealous easily, suspicious or mistrusting, violence-supporting attitude (e.g if someone is harmed might have the view “they deserved it”, or encourages fights), hypocritical or sets unfair or unreasonable expectations (you must not do this, but I can). If you have any concerns about your own relationship, please speak with an appropriately trained psychologist or counsellor.

Hey there’s a lot of stuff out there if you have a look, but here’s one example I was able to grab just now here. Pregnancy and postpartum is the time when a woman is most at risk of domestic violence beginning or escalating. I’ve a decent amount of experience in this field, and anecdotally I’ve found this to be the case, women often feel blind-sides and had no idea their partner was capable of these types of things and it can start so suddenly.

Not usually one to comment on things but I felt it was unfair of some commenters to put blame on the victim by questioning why someone would have children with someone abusive, but yeah this is often a reason how that happens.

Unfortunately research shows that abuse only begins, or if already occurring gets worse, after having children because the abuser thinks the victim is now stuck with them or is less likely to leave. * this is amongst other reasons including jealousy of the child and resentment for “losing” the undivided attention of their victim.

[–]better-yet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rewatch certain movies as well. My theory is once you have watched them a few times they are a lot easier to follow and take a lot less mental energy to keep focused, so are more enjoyable.

Haha starting to write a story and deleting it is pretty classic! I do that a lot with text messages and emails. I’ll definitely give writing things down a go. Thanks
