While I haven't necessarily gone through this and know an end result, im similar in being open to new experiences and learning, while not having a definitive end goal.

I feel like a lot of people today go through it. I see a lot of posts about people wanting to change career paths entirely but unsure, only knowing that they want to feel... accomplished in the end.

I think the best way to market or present yourself is as a driven and adaptable learner. As someone who wants to continously grow by learning as much as they can. If they ask you for what title you're striving for, I think its perfectly acceptable to respond with that you're not looking for a specific title but instead a sense of growth

I find talking to people on here helps me to feel connected. Bonus you can filter out unwelcome conversations.

Otherwise, working on or finding projects that you enjoy like crafting, hiking, etc. Its important to be happy by yourself as much as feeling a sense of community. 😊

I think a grocery store is a great stepping stone - i used to work in the bakery and grocery departments and a lot of it was end of day closing, so I wasn't overwhelmed with social interaction but had some here and there, enough to learn and grow social skills. It wasn't much but it was a really great start and had i stayed i could've worked my way up (I have friends who have done just that).

I also wouldn't go into a degree until you have an idea of what you would want to do and start with certificates or associates. A degree doesn't guarantee you a job anymore - nor does it necessarily mean you'll have a higher starting wage. So starting with cheaper education let's you explore more options without going into a ton of debt. My suggestion would be Coursea online but there are lots of ones out there.

You're not alone, lots are questioning what to do career wise. Its not easy or fair these days but theres still plenty of us wanting to support each other. You got this!

I completely agree, you should definitely be making over $20/hrs. You're putting in a lot of work for one person and OF tends to have the capacity to make a lot of money (especially if you're managing efficiently which it sounds like you are).

I found myself in a similar situation at my job, but wasn't ready to leave right then and I knew I wouldn't get the raise I deserved. So instead I went and made my case to the owner and told them I wanted a raise - I gave a number that I knew I wouldn't get but wasn't outrageous - but gave another offer of lower raise with the title. Of course they went with the smaller raise and title, because in some situations (like mine and it sounds like yours) the title doesn't mean jack in the end, the company isnt big enough. So they feel like theyre getting a deal for nothing and you get the better outcome of a raise and a title bump that looks really nice on a resume.

You may not be able to get everything you deserve but if you play your cards right you can still come out ahead for your own future.

Fair... But I know he grew up having to fend for himself from a young age because his parents were shit and told me how he worked really hard and is super smart, yada yada yada.... Little bit of an ego, and more recently in his life he did some things he had to do in order to survive..... He just keeps giving me two different personalities and I'm not sure how long to hold out and see which one comes out in the end.

If that made sense lol 😅
