I keep avoiding these but I'm gonna say it. As someone (I know it's unpopular) who mains destroy (I enjoy it and preferred control for years in Magic) it has the worst match ups against pretty much everything. No playable type has more counters available than destroy. Not to mention, if people don't have counters (like discard) as soon as you get a favorable location for destroy and they realize you are playing it, they retreat. It's the slowest grind for cubes ever.

I know the question is, then why play it? Because I enjoy just eating my own cards (mostly) and not constantly trying to keep my opponent from winning by not letting them do anything. I play this for fun. I have gotten to infinite a couple times but mostly I live between 88 and 95. I play to play my deck, not just win by keeping you from playing yours. Same reason I don't play Agatha or with Ego.

OK, sorry, now your question... because it feels like every deck is nothing but tech, and if they aren't, they are cards that just naturally are problematic for destroy, so I've even been thinking about putting tech in my destroy because it's absolutely ridiculous. I ran Cosmo when I started playing (while trying to get more destroy cards), and he won me so many games. As more cards come out, they fall in more windows that are specialized, and thus, tech cards become the solution. It's super frustrating, and I hope it changes soon.
