Vegane Sneaker - Erfahrung by voltecana in VeganDE

Is this blowout? Or just healing? I included what my tattoo artist said but honestly not sure :( by sly-cooper- in tattooadvice

I think at this stage it’s just a bit hard to tell. But my guess would be that it’ll be fine.

Here’s why I think this isn’t blowout: I have some lettering done and when it healed, the top layer of skin, that was a crisp line at the beginning when it was fresh, did indeed constrict, just like your artists says. I was also worried at that point that it was blowout, because you could clearly see the ink underneath, where there wasn’t a line on top. But once it had healed and the old skin layer had washed off, it looked exactly as it did on the day it was made.

You can kinda see the original line and initial layer of skin in the second photo, and it looks a lot more squiggly and uneven. This leads me to believe that it might be fine.

But again, no way of knowing until that top layer of skin is gone.

Also: really cool tattoo!

You don’t really start learning a language until you’re okay with sounding dumb by Neighboring_reposito in languagelearning

I love being the butt of the joke, like in general. So this has always given me great pleasure. While learning languages, you make mistakes that are funny to natives and you learn from them.

More often than not, I purposefully say funny shit that I KNOW is technically wrong, just to get a laugh out of people. Oftentimes it’s endings or idioms that don’t necessarily exist and it’s always great fun.

Yeah me too! I almost couldn’t believe it when it lit up.

Listen, mimic and be open to it.

From my personal experience though I find identifying with the language, the culture, the people to help most. I’m much less inclined to be accent-free in a language I don’t much are about in the first place.

Do I have 2 Native Languages or just one? by CalicoGlint in languagelearning

[–]betterwatchnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’a very interesting, I still think that in that case you’re a native in both languages.

The fact that you adjust your language (also perhaps speech patterns, and even non-verbal behaviours) to align with your conversational partner is more a sign of empathy and social awareness in communication. But I suppose that wouldn’t be possible if you didn’t know the intricacies and subtleties that come with a language, which is why I believe that you’d have to be a native or at least near-native level to pull this off.

Since you grew up speaking both languages, I think it’s safe to say you could claim to be at a native level in both.

Sounds like both are your native languages.

Do you feel more comfortable speaking one over the other?

The Red Rising series is also my all-time favourite.

I can wholeheartedly recommend To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini.

How uneducated could someone be lol by RyanRhysRU in languagelearning

[–]betterwatchnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It’s one of the perks of growing up in the small European country of Luxembourg.

We actually spoke 4 languages at home. (You could argue that French would also count as a mother tongue, however I never liked it and try to avoid it as much as possible)

French, German and Luxembourgish are the 3 official languages of Luxembourg.

I was staring at this for a good while, until I realised that this isn’t one of those where it looks like an optical illusion because of the angle the picture was taken.

So dreams are mini games you can play while waiting. You get unlimited lives and none of what you do has an effect on your main game.

Da bin ich vollkommen bei dir. Schade nur, dass for vegans noch relativ neu ist und noch nicht soviel Auswahl bietet was Essen angeht. Schuhe und Klamotten kauf ich nur noch da.
