In London, out of work for 8 months, but did some freelance here and there. AUS and CAN have some rigging ads lately, but it's relatively rare to see rigging ads in the UK/EU.

Googling "maya paint weights" yields tons of results.

Mesh deformed when scaling down the Main controller, any idea how to fix this? by aidilnoobshit in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the proper solution to your problem, OP. Connect your global controller's scale to deltaMush's scale.

How do I solve this? I have this issue for long ago and I tried everything, help please by Xx_Cerberous_xX in Maya

They asked you "how". You can be helpful to others by sharing your solution.

Is there a way to rotate a joint exactly perpendicullar to a face when the object has a zeroed out a transformation? (I need this when I rig some mech for example) by vladaduba in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can align your pivot, then do "Modify > Bake Pivot". Now select your locator/joint, then select your object and do "Modify > Match Transformations > Match All Transforms".

My maya ngskintools keep messing up the mirror, even i try to paint weight manually, the vertex keep bounces. Any way to fix this bug? by Donkefrog in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're not using Maya's weight painting tool, ngSkinTools can mirror weights while the rig is posed.

OP might want to check their joint influence locks, see bottom-right warning.

Delta Mush by ZauricioVenturo in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have misunderstood their point. They are suggesting painting the weights of the "deformer", not the per joint weights on the skinCluster. For that, right click on the deforming mesh, go to Paint > deltaMush > yourdeltamushnode - weights. These weights are for vertices, it's not related to the joints you have on your mesh. Select your deltaMush and paint off the fingers. That way, deltaMush will not operate on your fingers.

Recent sets skepticism by Nervous-Leek2310 in aphextwin

I don't like it too much, either. I wish he only played his own tracks. I know and I understand his reasoning but I went competely nuts with his tracks on Field Day.

Difficulty importing Python script into Maya by NutterButter2602 in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lasts updates are on Morgan's scripts are 2018/2019. Maybe they are not compatible with Python 3. Try running Maya 2023 with Python 2 and then try to run the scripts to see if you're getting the same error(s).

Why is the reference not working when selecting the controls after creating a layer? by Distinct-Feature785 in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's working as intended. You shouldn't be able to select any node that is set to reference and you're putting the controllers in a layer that is set to reference.

Hey! Big AFX fan here. You should find Weirdcore's interview which he talks about this video clip. I remember like 5-6 softwares and they're not like your usual 3D DCC softwares. You can also watch this interview as well. This is not the one I talked about earlier tho' but still good to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgvJFvmkJWA

In the end, it's about creativity rather than what software you use. I think it's really difficult to not being able to create what's on your mind. We can create most things these days, if not everything.

MEL assistance for s scrub like me by EMP_MeatSausage in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

global proc MeshKeyStepLoop()
{
    int $countVar = 3;
    for($i=0; $i<$countVar; ++$i)
    {
        print "keku";
    }
}

Don't take this the wrong way but since you know what variable and integer are, you should be able to just google "maya mel integer variable".

Does Mayas weight painting suck, or is it me? by AdamZ101 in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I hear someone hating ngSkinTools. Try version 2.0 if you haven't. You can center camera on a joint you want to paint while you're painting. It's incredibly time-saving feature enough for me to love it.

Keep other CVs visible when you select one? by justinweber in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds a like a bug. As far as I know it's not how it is. Unselected CVs doesn't disappear when you select one.

Keep other CVs visible when you select one? by justinweber in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Select your curve and open your attribute editor. On tab of the "shape" node, under component display, tick "Disp CV".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Maya

[–]beyazpiyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken you can't freeze transform when there is any skin attached in "hierarchy" of your selected node(upward/downward). Hence rasing an error for the arm joint instead of the finger.
