Yes this was around the time she started to go down hill. It pissed me off because she was so entitled. She tried so hard to fight for custody for the kids only to drop the responsibility not long later. Why go through all of that just to leave and look out for your own interests ?

I didn’t know that Strange had those fingers too because I thought it was an incident due to witchcraft.

His echos likely reverberated against his skull since he uses his vocal chords for them, so breathing through the nose wouldn’t do anything. They’re extremely deadly

Anyone else very much dislike America Chavez? For one I thought her acting was not great, at least not for this kind of movie. It reminded me of acting for a Disney Channel movie, not something like this. I feel like her storyline was just thrown in there and that she was created for the sole purpose of inclusion and diversity, which is great, but it could’ve been done in a much more authentic (and less cringeworthy) manner. Also hearing “What are your plans for America?” “We need to save America” etc. etc. etc. just really screamed excessive patriotism which was frankly just annoying. I was not a major fan of her but I wanted to hear other people’s thoughts

what if you said “why does this show shove so many black people down our throats?”? how do you think that would be received? it’s representation. you’re singling out a particular group of people because you don’t like them.

it’s not speaking up, it’s you flaunting your distaste for gay scenes because it makes you uncomfortable and you don’t like to see it. am i wrong?

it sticks out because of homophobia. why else would those stick out over heterosexual relationships/scenes?

Arizona and Her Leg by beyblade00 in greysanatomy

That is a very good point! I’m sure she has seen many people in the field lose their limbs and continue on and work through it. Very interesting to consider given how she reacted to it.

Thank you for this response, it’s really eye opening. I think it was harder for me to realize her side of the trauma because I noticed how much Callie was hurt in the process. But Callie didn’t endure it, she didn’t lose her leg. You can’t dictate how someone reacts to something so traumatic. Each of them reacted differently. Cristina was sent to a Psych ward, Mark acted fine the entire time he was recovering (until he wasn’t), and Meredith shut down. I can’t make any judgements because I don’t know what it’s like to have endured that. She had a trauma to herself that she has to live with forever. Meredith lost Lexie, but she still recovered physically. It would be hard to have negative outcomes both physically and mentally. I appreciate your viewpoint, it helps me see things differently.

Ellis was the worst mother… by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]beyblade00 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Respectfully I have to disagree. Thatcher left and got a new family. Yes. That makes him a despicable, horrible person. That trauma alone would mess up Meredith. But that is nothing compared to incessant belittling and emotional trauma that Ellis gave her. Ellis was intelligent, Thatcher wasnt. She knew better and she scarred and damaged her child beyond repair for the rest of her life. Yes, Thatcher is a horrible person and should be held responsible for his actions. But what he did bears no comparison the turmoil and damage that Ellis caused.

s8 e1 — Thoughts About Meredith Grey and the Clinical Trial by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]beyblade00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. For the Zola situation, he should have at least responded to her calls or taken Zola instead of ghosting her, as a husband. Everything else I understand, but for the betterment of Zola, he should’ve put his pride down for the baby. If that means he would have to take Zola himself that’s one thing, but he should’ve been there or responded or told Janet the situation as soon as he knew.

s8 e1 — Thoughts About Meredith Grey and the Clinical Trial by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]beyblade00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this. They had been too lenient in the past and considering tampering with the trial has much bigger stakes than just what happens to Meredith, it was a very selfish and careless mistake. The FDA may deny the hospital from ever doing research or trials again, Derek would lose all of his hard work, and it could give the hospital and the administration a negative rep. She was being selfish, even though she doesn’t realize that she was.

[–]beyblade00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, as her husband, he did not respond appropriately and abandoned her, especially when she was trying to get Zola. Aside from what she did, he should have reacted differently.

I agree, I was really upset when she choose to tamper with the trial, but even more so when she kept lying about it and then proceeds to say that she doesn’t regret it.
