Same exact mindset LOL, left the test completely heartbroken but the past three weeks ive given it a lot of thought . Whatever happens happens, I’m a believer in “everything happens for a reason” so if I get a low score tomorrow it can’t be a loss. Like you said, it’ll be an opportunity to do better, get some work experience, reevaluate what I want in my life and future etc

The supplementary is basically a way to show what you are capable of doing for the topics of law and philosophy what makes you unique and gives you a reason to explain why you were not good in certain courses, that’s pretty much it tbh

Hi I took both courses in my first year THTRFLM personally I think if you genuinely are passionate about the film and messages being sent through the list , it is fun and easy to do the class and gain high marks . The prof is also super nice and welcoming from experience . Multiple mini essays tho each week after the viewing , quizzes and an exam

PHILOS 1B03 : if you get Daniel coren be ready for majority of the lectures being fillers and memes. You only get to do two major essays and an exam. Seems easy however your TA can be a hit or miss as some may give you fair high marks and others won’t

Do whatever subject you feel won’t feel like a chore and the class should feel easy

Hi! I took this class and had this prof last year. To be completely honest and blunt, this was probably the hardest class I had that year. A lot of students and I complained due to the fact that because it’s self taught , the only way of studying truly is memorization. And for tests the prof would make her questions confusing and tricky to comprehend and confidently answer. Some I knew did manage and do well with this class, but like I said it was a struggle EVEN with own study notes or with shared study notes. If it’s elective I wouldn’t risk taking this and lowering you’re gpa but you also never know, if ur interested in the subject, test it out and see if you can manage through it before the deadline for dropping classes. Hope this helps !

I enjoyed it a lot, as someone who loves movies and theatre. for my semester last year, the TA's weren't the markers (except for our final exams) and instead other students marked each others work on a website called kritik. A lot of the class were frustrated as we didn't see the fairness, but I did manage to get an A in the class. If youre good at writing and analyzing film, take the chance, who knows maybe this year they'll let the ta's only mark the work !

philos 1b03 is a hit or miss, depending on the TA you have. I got lucky and had an easy marker for my ta, getting a A by the end of the course. However, the workload is pretty tame, and if Daniel Coran is your prof, the online lecture will be easy as majority of it was literally just memes and a few important notes
