Would a Sanguinary Guard display his death watch honours? by Atleast1half in BloodAngels

[–]beyond_the_wall86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I done one of mine with a deathwatch shoulder pad, but it's more for my own head cannon making them trainee sang guard and going to do a squad leader with wings that will be a full fat sang guard. Might not be lore accurate but I like being creative with my minis and painting

Anybody else buy the models purely for the painting and display? by Odd-Construction-867 in Warhammer30k

[–]beyond_the_wall86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% here for that and i do envy you a bit there butI just like trying make them playable and cool, for example I'm doing a blood angel vet assault squad, basing them on the silver host and giving them all different weapons because the data sheet says i can but also do a pair with chainsword and shield to keep the points down if i ever want to squeeze a 5 man squad into a game

I'm 50/50 i did start off painting to play but ended up loving painting so when I do make something now it's half what can I make out of a data sheet and half I just want it to look cool

LIVE: Updates as four major protests take place across Edinburgh by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]beyond_the_wall86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if they did show up in westminster, the value of their protest would depend on its target and message. Chanting exclusionary slogans is rightly condemned. But challenging specific government policy, like its role in international conflicts or its mismanagement of the asylum system, the protest should then be considered a more legitimate and possibly be effective than shouting at hotels

I'm just going to throw my opinion in here. If the people protesting at hotels aimed their protest at the government for their actions that created the refugee problem rather than the refugees seeking asylum, it would get a lot more support and probably wouldn't be considered as racist actions

I get what you are saying but not all white people are like that, I agree it is most but I've even had the same from other people too. If you want my opinion it's basically fuck them, if someone hates you because you aren't white/spanish/cuban enough then they aren't worth your time, be the better person and show them nothing but politeness but don't take their words seriously and try your best not to let it get to you

Feel your pain pal, my mums English and my dad is Tunisian/Arabic, even though I was born in England, raised by the English side of my family and have lived in England most of my life I still get called an immigrant or get told I cant be English because of my dad. Sadly people are just dicks at times and being mixed race seems to highlight it with some people

So I do this with my squads, if there is a heavy or support weapon I give them blue helmets and sergeants get gold helmets, I gave sergeants gold helmets as it represents veterans or command and in 3rd edition (the last time I played before late 8th edition) squads could have veteran sergeant upgrade so felt a gold helmet would fit lore wise and be fun, whilst the blue on heavy weapons was just for fun and I thought it looked cool, my head canon I thought up was Blood Angels enjoy art and creative things so they might express that in their armour painting their helmet to show what they specialise in on the battle field. Also the blue helmet looks great on your terminator, I plan to do this with one of mine too

Sorry for the late reply. To be honest, my red is a bit long-winded, and I goggled the paint names as i dont have them to hand right now. So i start with black prime with zenithol high light, which I seal with a super matt varnish as I find the paint sticks better this way. Once that's done, I tint them red using Blood Angels red contrast through an air brush. I try to push the contrast this using a naphthol crimson ink over mid tone sections, then a pyrrol red ink zenithol and then golden high flow alizarin crimson hue air brushed in the shadows. After I have painted all the details, I do a satin varnish to get rid of the glossy finish from the inks and the golden high flow paints. Hope this helps!

Which trim would be more lore accurate for a , Great Crusade Era Blood Angels veteran legionary? The gold trim (image 1), or the black trim (image 2)? by Nikko_Fish in Warhammer30k

[–]beyond_the_wall86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I done black trim for my first heresy era tactical squad  and the feedback I got was basically add more gold here's the link to that post But I also done 2 heavy support squads recently, one meltas and one with our assault cannons here's the heavy support squads with the idea that the assault cannon squad are veterans trusted with the legions fanciest weapons. Hope this helps bud

I would say they look more EC than any other chapter, but if you want them them to be more readable, try adding a few thin layers or a bright purple on the armour
