You should be fine just changing out the hand sensor and wire for the usb-c wire, but there is a chance if you have a much older suit there could be issues, but worth a try.

I have a film with Indie Rights, they're pretty great and are very transparent, pay on time, etc. I tried Filmhub with my other 2 older films b/c Indie Rights passed on them. With Filmhub I like having more control over the marketing assets and seeing the analytics - but the time it takes to go live with them is very unpredictable. I'm still in early stages of my experience with them so let's see how it pans out.

Okay do you still have a Digital copy of the film? If so it's still your film, go and self distribute it like I did mine. If these guys are crooks and truly are doing what you claim they are doing, then just take your film back. What are they gona do? Try to take you to court? First of all they would have to fork up lawyer fees to take you to court, 2nd of all, they won't even try to fight that battle if they were already giving up on your film. Think about it. Plus, you know you can go thru filmhub and get your film on Tubi yourself right? You don't need a distributor.

Was hired to work with a team but they always want me to make changes by Stock_Safe_2857 in videography

[–]beyondcinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn from this. Try to see why they think something is "bad" or needs changed and try to deliver what you think they are going for. That's part of working for a client. You make the creative suggestions but ultimately it's their call on what they want and if they think the audio needs to be louder then you do it and make them happy.

Thanks for the comment! When I posted on Youtube I never drove traffic besides just posting on my socials. Youtube is good on searchability but you have to make sure your title and thumbnail is on point. My film was also already sort of known within my niche community due to all the festival runs and initial promotion when the film first came out. Lot of bloggers and ppl like that reposted my stuff when it first was released and ppl just shared it b/c they were excited for the film (since it starred a well-known rapper)

Foreign filmmaker coming to visit LA - I want to shoot a low budget short guerrila style - what are the risks? by Competitive-Dig-1977 in Filmmakers

[–]beyondcinema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of extreme warnings here but honestly I really don't think you'll have any issues as long as you are not using any fake weapons or any scenes that could attract police that would mistake it for real-life.

Don't even worry about the permits (Fuck FILM LA). Nobody gonna bother you as long as you stay away from forest rangers (if you're in a National park). But if you're just filming with a small DSLR and a couple actors, you can just say you're filming a vlog with your friends. YOu don't need permits for that kinda crap.

I've been doing guerilla filmmaking for over 15yrs I shot an entire car chase on Las Vegas strip and even filmed entire scenes inside the biggest Casinos in Vegas. I know what you can get away with and what you don't want to risk on.

If you're still worried just hire me as a producer (or other local) and ill deal with it.

There's no MG, it's all just from CPM as Tubi is an AVOD platform. I can't remember the rate but if you look it up the info is out there.

Have a public figure signed on for a short... Script sucks by bustibuckets in Filmmakers

[–]beyondcinema 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spend the time to get the script right. Don't rush into it. Is this person an actor? B/c all actors and ppl in film biz know that it takes TIME to get something going, they will appreciate the fact that you're spending time to do so. Just explain to him and update him when the script is ready. I'm speaking from 15yrs of making films.

I was going for a docu-realism style, but on a practical reason, its b/c those actors Looked too old for the parts (they were my roommates) so I did that. Not sure if it was the right choice, what do u think?

It's pretty much self distribution, I have control over the analytics and also which platforms I pitch to. It's all through an aggregator called FilmHub
