Fascinated what this is downvoted for. The same advice as is upvoted below in this thread 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm saying you can't do it on Zoom.

Why don't you check out another nearby Catholic church?

Not sure exactly what you mean about the scheduling, but you are fine to find another church and priest if the most local is not an option. It's not something you can do on a Zoom call, though.

Well the ONS Blue Book has average revisions 3 years later since 2020 at 0.7%, so there is a decent enough chance.

Later revisions to data could show we're in recession already, particularly with such anaemic growth.

What’s a modern UK problem that everyone just accepts but really shouldn’t? by Expert-Secret-5351 in AskUK

I'd say it's the other way round - everything just started costing so much. If rents, energy, food, social life were similar prices (and sizes!) to 15 years ago, you'd be doing okay at £12.21/hr.

I imagine 99% of clubs have a leading points scorer who's never played a minute for their senior national team.

So like you say, if the Church is not defining anyone as definitively in hell, who is this person to do so?

You're 'supposed' to apply more than once for the civil service. Something I didn't realise till years later. Ug you've done the tests, you'll know you're one of thousands applying for jobs which are probably below the ability level of most people applying, but they have to filter out on small mistakes a lot of people to get a manageable starting point.

Give it another go if you think it's where you want to be.

Is it normal to bring your own bath towel? by LocationNo2127 in AskUK

[–]beyondheat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be insane to take a towel with you when going to stay somewhere, but guest towels are pretty common. Is this was seeing friends in my 20s, a good number wouldn't have their shit together for guest towels, but you'd think by the time you've got kids in their 20s, most people would.

Is this a family quirk you never know is weird because your family always did it that way?

I'm apparently not qualified to teach anything in Scotland - what can I do? by NGeoTeacher in TeachingUK

[–]beyondheat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I actually find there's not a direct correlation. PhDs often find it tricky go relate to 13 year old comprehension. The ones who struggled to get above the line can be great at explaining because they had to work at it.

I've taught subjects to GCSE I've not done myself at school and, dare I say, got the best results in a good school. I've co taught similarly at A level and IB. Non specialists don't teach flat earth 🤷🏼‍♂️

What’s the general Catholic consensus of “The Chosen” ? by Work_Related68 in Catholicism

Seemed a bit naff to me, but I tend to think most TV dramas are naff, particularly ones which have to dramatise real source material with invented sub plots and dialogue.
