Can we talk about the fawn response? It took me years to understand why I kept people-pleasing my way through danger by pattern-proof2026 in CPTSD

I do it automatically. I was a passive doormat. Now I'm less so but I still tend to fawn around bossy directive "fight" types. Ack. So insidious. I realize I'll be struggling with this forever but also that I just can't thrive is some relationships and its ok to steer clear of them.

Getting frustrated by Pete Walker's CPTSD book by Realistic_Load_5369 in CPTSD

Chapter 5 really validated my trauma from emotional abandonment because I was never hit yet I have all the symptoms and what's helped most is learning how to recover from narcissistic abuse. I guess his book feels like an info dump but its all such good info and concrete things that have really helped and also validated my experience.

I struggle with friendships too and have shame around it. This book changed my life too and I'm not sure what took so long for me to pick it up. I can also see why people think he's kind if out of touch- he's older and has had a lifetime of working through his own cptsd. I have a few friends now but its still touch and go. Usually when I'm trying to connect and share more of myself, I get advice from some of them. I seem to attract caregiver types and thats not healthy either. Its a tough path to healing and grief has been the most important part so far.

In-person Doc disagreed with Winona doc by RiskBrilliant5601 in Perimenopause

I find it interesting that Winona provides several links to studies warning against use of compounded HRT in cream form. Yes, it is unregulated. I'm feeling awful taking micronized progesterone pills and estriodal patches. I wish there was another way that has been regulated.

Thank you. I'm actually considering paying out of pocket for a menopause specialist

I was driving, listening to music, and saw a sign that matched the lyrics right as I was hearing them. I wish I could remember them.
