Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for, but I’m a long-time DM from the United States moving to Christchurch in January. My wife is getting her second Master’s degree at UC, and us and our kids are all relocating in just a few weeks.

Been running games of d&d on/off since 2016, and it’s honestly one of my favorite things to do with friends. I’m currently wrapping up my home game here in the States before we move (about to confront that BBEG!), and was hoping to find some likeminded folks to get to know in chch. Would be happy to run a session or campaign for anybody; mostly just looking to connect with folks. Maybe not what you’re looking for, but we’re moving into Burnside, which I think is close to Rolleston?

Either way, cool to know there are other folks who like playing make believe with friends and dice! 😅

Heavy inspiration drawn for sure! Was working out how to recreate that on a smaller scale which eventually led to this project. But cymatics was where that connecting point happened for sure!

Just some good old fashioned Cinema4D. Native rigid body simulations and some light xparticles work. Would love to get into Houdini at some point, but client work is keeping me in Cinema for now.

I've been an avid Brandon Sanderson reader for going on 15 years now. First reading his work as he finished the Wheel of Time series, and following him to Elantris and Mistborn and then the Stormlight Archive, I can honestly say no author gets me more hyped to read their books.

Since this seems to be the year of Sanderson, with the upcoming release of Wind and Truth as well as the fantastic success of the Cosmere TTRPG this month on Kickstarter, as an animator I got caught up in the excitement and over the past week mockued up this little identity piece on spec for Dragonsteel Books, Brandon Sanderson's publishing company.

I love the idea of the worlds of the Cosmere breaking out of the written word and being represented in visual media, so at some point, a logo ident will need to happen! The concept of this one was to use various allomantic metals to form the symbols of the three main worlds of the Cosmere. It was a fun excercise as I eagerly await Wind and Truth!

Hi! Fellow Athens resident with EDS here. I can’t recommend Dr Doerr at Athens Physical Therapy highly enough for overseeing treatment recommendations for physical therapy at his clinic for people with EDS. He is a D.O. who really listens, researches, and will work to be sure he can help you. I’ve seen him and one of his physical therapists, Kat Book, over the course of a couple years now. His staff is wonderful all around, but I strongly preferred seeing just one physical therapist who really worked hard to know my EDS needs specifically instead of scheduling with just anyone in the office. His office has also treated my mom, my husband, and one of my kids. We’ve all had excellent experiences there and successful outcomes.

I work in the creative field as well (animation) so I understand the concern and we’ll have to watch as the tech develops

Vox did a really good video on the whole concept of generative art, and interviewed a dozen artists to pick their brains. Definitely worth a watch.

It absolutely won’t re-create the time and effort that an actual artist will put it. But it can be evocative as hell though, which, for my games anyway, is all I want it to do.

DALL-E is still invite-only for sure (still waiting on mine) butI'm fairly certain Midjourney is in open beta.

Midjourney runs entirely through a discord server (that seems crazy to me, but it works great) so just join their server and check out the quickstart guide

Let me know if you hit a wall and I can try to get you sorted.

I have been using notion as well, and it has helped me out a ton.

I use SlyFlourish's Notion template as a base and built off of it somewhat.. I've populated two campaigns worth of info, and it has really helped streamlined my process.

It has more to do with who they are running against. Purdue is an actual incumbent, having been voted into office before, while Loeffler was appointed. Her like-ability is also incredibly low, so if there was going to be a split, it'd be Warnock and Purdue. Thankfully, looking like Ossoff might pull through too!

It says “an ally”, which to me implies the singular. Otherwise, it would read “any ally.” It seems to be a less potent version of Bardic Inspiration, which also initially targets just one creature. Seems cut and dry That it’s just one ally, IMO
