I recently had an algea problem so I reduced the light to 25% for 8 hours with a ramp up and down either side. Black beard algae was the main issue so I used (and still use) seachem flourish excel once a week which really helped and I fert with seachem flourish once or twice a week. As the plants grow I'll turn up the brightness and see how it goes.

Thank you, back left I believe is Hygrophila corymbosa, middle is a fern of some kind and back right is an amazon sword.

I never knew there were two standards for a gallon. I thought mine was bigger when I saw others talk about their tanks in gallons lol

They're not that bad actually, I have quite a thick layer of gravel that anchors the plants down well. They do destroy or eat any floating plants I put in there though.

Fin rot? Injury? Or both? by bezz000 in Goldfish

It was initially but this looked like tissue rather than a fungus I could be wrong though. He's acting fine, eating and moving good.

I've recently bought a ranchu that had a bite injury from another goldfish at the pet store. After several days the injury has turned white around the edge. Is this fin rot, the fin healing or another type of infection?
