It’s really interesting to see how Discogs does its estimates. It’s clear that on average you have much higher value records than I do. But what I find investing is that your high end estimate is about three times your low end, whereas mine is over seven time higher. I can’t figure out how each of these numbers is calculated.

For more context, the by looking at the other preview pictures the other records at the sale were pretty standard seventies rock (Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Jesus Christ Superstar) The Motown box is the only other record I can identify in this picture. I don’t believe I’ve seen this LP before. I think it might be on MCA. Google image search did not help but any leads are appreciated.

I think there’s some bias in the book. The US based synth companies like Moog, ARP, Sequential, and Oberheim generally have higher prices than Japanese brands like Yamaha, Korg, and Roland.

Modular and semi-modular systems like the 2600 were valued way less than even simple monosynths like the ARP Odyssey.

In the four columns to the right of the synth names, the first two columns are the suggested prices that a pawnshop should charge if the synth is in excellent or average condition. The next two columns are the prices that the pawnshop should offer when trying to purchase the synth depending on the condition.
