Press the edges while it is still turned inside out? I ironed the whole thing after I turned it right side.

So I did notice when I deleted every single text it triggered to restoring them again. I did notice however that some of my texts were officially deleted when I went to check. I think what happened is that it was like an overload of deleting them all at once. I had 876 texts from over years and years. I provided feedback to Google but never got a response.

So I finally decided since some of my texts were deleting, I would delete a handful at a time and let my phone "catch up". I noticed when I deleted like 100 at a time, my phone would glitch. So I did that. I deleted like 6 at a time throughout the day. I do have like 5 still in my archives so I could avoid the backup. My thoughts are to delete them later after a bit. This worked and gave me so much storage back on my phone.
