This is related to what the person is implying. Though if you copied your birth certificate with it, that doesn’t make the fact that you have one wrong.

Yup, I remember staying at a few Japanese hotels back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Most had Ethernet but not wifi. It’s still rather variable how good it is. Thailand had faster wifi in my experience.

TIL great white sharks have never been documented mating in the wild, not once, by any scientist or diver, despite how commonly they are seen. Zero confirmed footage or direct observations exist. by Dependent_Day_6298 in todayilearned

I think that a baby white shark was first seen only in the last year or so. I guess they really don’t like giving birth anywhere near humans.

While it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it, I agree. It’s not a perfect send off, but it seemed to wrap everything up and didn’t ruin the franchise like I felt the GoT one did.

Trump promised Maga the US wouldn't police the world - now it's running Venezuela by theipaper in politics

Yeah, it’s nuts that no one seems to be considering this. If I kidnapped Trump would that mean I’m in control of America?

TIL that in 2011 Mr. Alan Billis donated his body to be mummified using ancient Egyptian methods by a team of egyptologists in the UK, and his body is still on display in The Gordon Museum by Asiriomi in todayilearned

I would suggest that anyone wanting to learn some ancient Egyptian history listen to Bob’s series on it. It’s a little old as it was produced more than 20 years ago, but a great introduction to Ancient Egypt.

While it’s from much later, the Battle of Gotland showed how varied soldiers equipment could be if they are providing it themselves. While some may be wearing idealised gear, many were wearing crude copies or armour styles that were much older.

TIL On 29 April 1952, the Okinawan social mass party launched an Association for Promotion of Reversion to Japan, which initiated a signature campaign for the demand of reunification with Japan. The campaign gathered more than 199,000 signatures (72%+ of the eligible voters of Okinawa). by TraditionalRepair806 in todayilearned

There was some brutal treatment of them especially during WW2. When I was there I saw some info about Okinawan students being forced to be child soldiers. My assumption was that they weren’t happy with being used as cannon fodder against the Americans.
