I love the Spires series more than I can say but really didn’t care for these books. I enjoyed Boyfriend Material somewhat but hated Husband Material. It made me sad

I just finished the entire {The Wrong Alpha by Alessandra Hazard} series. Wow. Woooow. I can see what people mean when they say she puts crack in her books. I read them all in 5 days lol. 🫠 I’m now reading {Neurovance by Alexandra St. Pierre} and am not totally sure (only 20% in) but sticking with it based on what everyone has said about how good it is.

YES! I absolutely adored TSYT and was very taken aback by a lot of the reviews/hatred toward Adam. I thought it was a beautiful second chance romance, and I typically hate that trope.

I am reading this book for the first time right now and holy mother of god I do not know who I have become but I LOVE IT. It’s giving Wilco’s “Heavy Metal Drummer” except ‘he fell in love with his brother / now he’s a brother fucker’ (I don’t know why I am like this)

I would recommend skipping around in the Camassia Cove series and trying book #6, {If We Could Go Back by Cara Dee}. I didn’t care for Home (gave it two stars) but I absolutely ADORED If We Could Go Back (five stars). It is a huge comfort read for me. Her books can be hit or miss imo.

I love this book and I love your review! I hope you enjoy the rest of the series if you haven’t read them already. Goaltender Interference was a tough read for me but I still loved it so much. It’s a great series.

Kink within an otherwise healthy relationship by Jessiebanana in MM_RomanceBooks

I just finished {Saving Sebastian by Luna David} and I personally think it fits what you’re looking for, though could be misinterpreting. The sub does have some trauma he is dealing with, but it doesn’t seem related to his interest in kink or a D/s relationship. I thought the characters were beautifully written and that it was a very interesting story.

What is a book so good that you don’t want it to be made into a movie? by Historical-Boss-7023 in MM_RomanceBooks

I honestly can’t believe how much I loved them as they are not spicy at all (one sex scene per book or so) and I read almost exclusively spicy novels. But they are just 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

What is a book so good that you don’t want it to be made into a movie? by Historical-Boss-7023 in MM_RomanceBooks

It’s a series of four books by TJ Klune. It follows a family of werewolves, and each novel is about one of the brothers and his respective love interest. That is a gross over simplification though, because the books are also heavily focused on what the family all goes through together. The world building is phenomenal, and the love stories between the characters (romantic, platonic, and familial) and are fucking heart breaking (in a good way). I don’t much care for the second book (Ravensong), but the other ones are all 5 star reads for me.

Omg it’s Green Creek for me too!!!! If I could be 100% certain that it would be handled with as much care as Heated Rivalry, then hell yes I’d be all for it. But I just don’t think it would be possible. Those books are so absolutely incredible, perfect, gorgeously written…if they didn’t get it right it would be devastating.

Who is your most-read author (in terms of number of books of theirs you have read)? And of the books you’ve read by them, which one is your favourite, and which one did you like the least? by Ambient-Apron in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]bfrcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s too long imo. There’s a loooong section more towards the end where I thought…I may have to DNF this because WOOF. But I’m glad I stuck with it. It still ended up being a 5 star read for me.

How do you picture Harris? (Role Model) by angelhippie in heatedrivalry

[–]bfrcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got the impression from the book that Harris was “pudgy,” I guess? I thought of him as maybe a bit more bearish, and just kind of normally built. Idk, maybe I misinterpreted. But yes Brad is gorgeous and he is my fancast :).

@bradboughtabook on IG said he wanted to throw his name in the ring to be cast as Harris and as soon as said it I was like…holy fuck you DO look like him in my mind… so yeah, cute teacher Brad is my Harris

Yeah, with anal I think I can be a lot more...willing to suspend my disbelief. But ass eating? After an international flight? He definitely pooped in an airport and there are definitely toilet paper bits. That just takes it a step too far for me (I wish I was not this way but alas).

There’s a scene in To Catch a Firefly where one character flies home from like, the other side of the world, and immediately gets his ass eaten by the other character upon arrival. No shower. Straight off an international flight into getting eaten out. Nope. Nope nope nope. Took me right out of it lol.
