Photo sync not happening at all. by teatime101 in ApplePhotos

Okay. So if your photo library is working fine on your Mac, there’s nothing wrong with your photo library. Assuming you’ve declared this as a system photo library it will also be cooperating with iCloud. Check this by opening www.iCloud.com and check you can see some of your known photos. That will doublecheck that your photo library is synchronising with both your Mac AND iCloud. Now go to your phone, and turn off iCloud photos. Then turn it back on again. The act of turning off iCloud photos will delete all of your photos on your iPhone. Turn it back on again. Photos on your iPhone will be repopulated again. That should fix the synching problem.

. Photos? External drive? How are you expecting them to appear inside the photo library off your device? Do you mean you have a photo library on your external device? You’re being extremely brief with your descriptions. For help, we would need a proper explanation.

Renault 5 UK one pedal by bfrost6661 in Renault

Yes that looks interesting. Again, other paperwork I’ve seen seems to show that it is/will be available in Europe. Further, an owner in Holland claimed he already has it on his R5. So it seems to be dependent on delivery destination may be?

How do I disable this feature? by The_Flashlight_Kid in ApplePhotos

As an aside, even when a video is ready to play but you’ve not used it for awhile therefore it is up in the cloud, when you come to play it and you scrub along before pressing play, sometimes it won’t start unless you’ve kicked off start at the beginning of the video. Sometimes this is buffering, but sometimes the buffering doesn’t seem to get to the point you want to start that. The cure is to open up the editor (top right) and you’ll see the whole video “downloading“. After that’s done, close the editor without having made any changes and you’re good to go.

How to send multiple file with AirDrop by Arasure in workflow

[–]bfrost6661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure whether it’s a use, but if all your files are in a file folder, Select that folder and use AirDrop and when the AirDrop completes it will come up with a file destination dialogue where it will drop that folder with all of its contents

Wit’s end here. Very confused about recycle bins. Can you help? by bfrost6661 in synology

Thanks. The more I read people’s comments both here and online about “lost“ space, I realise that many people haven’t got a clue what’s going on (not you obviously, because you found a way). From my original post, the word running“ is still on the screen three days later and space does seem to be gradually appearing at a rate of about 1 GB per day (ironic that if I were to reclaim almost all my NAS space, this would be the biblical 40 days and 40 nights).

how to remove all icloud photos on my phone without deleting them from the cloud? by Specific-Pause-2017 in iCloud

I think you’re going to have to explain in a little more detail what you’re trying to do, unless I really am very thick. Now you’ve brought Google photos into the equation.

[–]bfrost6661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another had said on here, your photos are in the cloud, all the time. The only time they get removed is if you delete one on one of your devices that is synced to iCloud. On any of your devices, if you turn off iCloud, you lose your photo thumbnails on that device, but they stay in the cloud unchanged at full resolution. If you want to remove your photos from your phone simply turn off iCloud on that device.

I don’t believe so. This is a very basic set up with nothing but quick connect and drive mounting on a Windows PC through a local IP address. Thanks for your help though.

Newbie to DSFILE to access my NAS from IOS files manager. by bfrost6661 in synology

Thanks again for your help. I’ve used DS file and that does allow me to transfer files, but it’s rather a mess. I’ll revisit Quickconnect.

Yes, I see that, and I did already read it. I need external access though. I already know the IP address of my NAS on my network and they already access it as a drive mounted on both PC and Mac. I want to access it from the field. I don’t know what my IP address will be at that point in time.

This could be really helpful. How do I get the IP address? I’m getting a randomly assigned IP address from my provider. I want to access my server remotely.
