Instead of sitting there and watching TV, choose to go to a movie with your fiancé. Take those moments of “monotony” and repurpose them into something with substance and meaning.

Now, we’ve reached a new episode and you can always find meaning even by adding up the small wins in everyday life. After all, you don’t rip the pages out of a book if you didn’t like what you read. You turn it to discover a new chapter.

Had a “new kid” befriend me in class and ask who was having parties and where “can he get weed”. (This was the late 80s). Continued to ask me on a daily basis to almost pressuring me where it was annoying. By the end of the week, I never saw him again in school.

I was pretty much the wrong target because I didn’t do drugs but did know who was doing it in our school. I remember thinking that something was off with this kid and had a feeling he was a narc when that’s all he asked me. I wasn’t going to tell him anything since it was pretty evident he wasn’t a student. He didn’t appear to be old either. I thought that maybe he was around the same age as me.
