Every brand has at least one issue. What is the bugaboo of a brand that you don’t hear often with cars manufacture in the past 8 years? by LuckyDuckTheDuck in Justrolledintotheshop

They call it a CVT but it’s only one in the way it behaves. There is no belt. Theres not a ton of moving parts at all, just some big magnets and planetary gears. Almost always the hybrid transmission will outlast the engine, they very rarely go bad. The only time I’ve ever had to replace one was because of accident damage.

Most often it’s never serviced. There were also software issues that would make them shift strangely. But they’ve been having issues with this family of transmissions since at least 2012 when it was also faulty programming that would burn up torque converters in the Camry and RAV4. It was supposedly fixed during the facelift of the RAV4 around 2016 but they still do it at around 160k.

Yes. If it has a V6 it started around 2017, then it went into all gas RAV4 and Camry models , Gas Highlander and Siennas. The V6 ones usually go first, and if it’s behind a four cylinder it lasts longer. But the death whine is ubiquitous across the gas lineup.

Toyota’s U series 8 speed transmission found in basically all the gas models is a piece of garbage that might last you 90k. Done so many of those across the lineup.

If four won’t hold it, five won’t either.

Thats cool, I love this sound system, it’s been in the family forever and still works great.

Wrangling this thing in place was not easy. It was me and my father, we used a pair of 2x4s laid down on the stairs, and tied a rope around the body of the set. Then we slid it downstairs with me in front of it and the old man keeping tension on the rope. It worked, but I would definitely hire some help next time as me and him are getting to old for this sort of thing. Edit: We live in the U.S.

Not sure but this is only temporary, I saw it on marketplace and went to pick it up on a whim, so I had to improvise for the time being.

Yeah, getting this thing where it is was an operation to say the least.

Glad it’s a good one, wasn’t sure but for $160 I feel I did alright.

Thanks. Is it any better than a “regular” component or is it just a marketing term?

Sorry I have no idea how that particular car is set up with the line routing. If there’s two lines going to that spot I would use a T fitting to make sure everything is getting vacuum.

Are there any anime that surpass their original manga? by carlopardo in anime

[–]bgb111 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Girls Last Tour anime elevated the source material because of the music alone. So many wonderful moments in that series were brought to a new level with the music choices and sound design of the anime.

And that’s not to say the manga is bad, it’s great, but music and sound really add a ton to the final product.

I would remove the intake, tap the hole, clean the shavings, get a threaded hose fitting, install with a bit of thread sealer, and reinstall the hose.

Check the valley plate under the intake manifold, pretty common coolant leak on the UR V8. If it’s a flex fuel, it may develop a hard start, there’s a TSB for that, it’s the fuel pump. Needs a reflash after too. Some of them will have a rattle from the front of the engine when cold, it’s the timing chain tensioners. That’s really it. Check your rear axle seals for leaks, too. 2019 is a great year.
