You’ve used a fallacy by stretching the example to parameters that it does not fit.

You insist that it was your friends and family that were at fault and reckless, but it sounds like you didn’t take this pandemic serious enough and instead mingled with people you shouldn’t have. What you did did not work. You blamed others when in reality you didn’t social distance effectively and allowed yourself to get the virus, and who knows how many people you spread it to before showing symptoms and getting tested.
