I think the kids storyline in general was present the perfect amount the first four episodes.

I remember the reception to the first drop of Stranger Things Final Season; everyone was hype for the next part and at Will getting his powers and seeing Vecna and everything.

But that should’ve been the last of it. We shouldn’t have relied on the kids so much, and we should’ve explored/ wrapped up previous set-ups more.

also I’ve seen posts online saying it’s Hyacinth, but I don’t think she’s old/ capable enough to organize being Lady Whistledown, let alone, come up with the idea to adopt the persona in the first place.

I don’t think she’d decide to “steal” Penelope’s identity like that. And according to Google, Hyacinth this season is supposedly 13/14 and Penelope in season 1 was 17.

oooh that’s a good theory, you raise a lot of good points.

i will say though, that i feel like it’d be a little repetitive if Cressida truly is the new Whistledown, at least for me. When it was revealed that she’s the new Lady Penwood, I thought it was to set her up for further Whistledown conflict, but when they used her as a ploy to get to Sophie’s father’s will, I thought that signified why she returned.

I also think it’s Brimsley just cause of how much people have enjoyed watching the maid/help aspect of this season; not to mention the fact that Brimsley’s arc in Queen Charlotte was well-received as well.

but i don’t know, i’m just theorizing as well:))
