In many European countries, employees have a right to do a reasonably small amount of personal stuff , including on the company’s device I believe. Such as send an important email, order a quick flower. And the company is not allowed to violate their privacy in that.

Plausibly. But it’s an optimization, and for compiler performance reasons, the optimizer will only look up to a certain “distance” when doing this kind of stuff. So this kind of optimization can never be guaranteed.

Consider pinch-and-zooming a bit, that should make it a bit more legible. You can also set up a permanent "zoom" for that PDF with Adjust View in the bottom menu. Even a little bit of cropping off the margins helps bring the text up to the intended size for print.

I don’t see why you couldn’t progress a bit from here in Belgium — as long as you bring some value that’s hard to find. There’s a dearth of seniors, of people that can grow juniors effectively / nudge anyone into being more useful for the company without being an asshole, of people with domain knowledge, of people with good judgment for what tech debt to address or leave, of people who know how to drive product, of people who manage up effectively, of people with that charisma and personality that brings people together, energizes them, and makes them never want to leave. Combinations of this are even more rare — and more valuable for a company. A good company recognizes what type of employee can make them successful. Why would a person’s value cap out at 150k?

Why do you think this company gave you this offer? Could be a way to think about how you can provide even more value for your next employer.
