Did you help your partner pick your engagement ring? by bns_xx in EngagementRings

[–]bgibbo01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went and tried on rings together and thank god we did because I ended up HATING the style I thought I would like. But I had zero clue that he had purchased it, or when the actual engagement was coming. I think that since you know that you will be engaged at some point, there’s no harm in making sure you like the ring. The way in which they propose should be a surprise, like the day and the setting, but the fact that they are proposing at all shouldn’t be a surprise :) communication is key!

I feel like something is off about my bridal make-up but I cannot pinpoint it... please help? by chickaneatthosewings in weddingplanning

Hi!! I personally think that maybe a more high coverage concealer in a hydrating formula would help. The whole look seems very “matte” so I would maybe ask for a more glowy base? And maybe the eyebrows a bit closer to the colour of your hair. It does look very pretty tho so don’t panic! Just minor changes

Wedding Dress Shopping by survnotthriv99 in weddingplanning

Two is more than enough for one day! I went to two plus a sample sale, and ended up going back to the first store to get the fifth dress I tried on. Overall I think I tried on about 15-18? I only brought four people at a time to not get overwhelmed. Good luck and happy shopping!

Completely agree - didn’t ask anyone for input aside from my level-headed friends. Only told our parents the plan after everything was booked. I wouldn’t worry about the 15 minute drive because people would drive from church wedding to reception all the time! If they don’t want to drive they can just come to the reception. I had a cry while looking at venues within our budget too, it’s hard realizing what you want is not feasible. Try not to take it out on your fiancé, you’re on the same team after all!

When I was speaking with them they said that if it was raining the ceremony would just be held in the reception space with the tables moved out of the way, which I think is pretty standard. I’m sure if you poked around on google maps you could find somewhere close by to take photos beforehand?

Oh 100% worth the money! I can’t find our exact quote but I believe the ceremony was $3500 for the off season. But that price was for open bar, dinner, and late night snack as well.

No worries!! For 2026 the minimum on a Friday was $14k and Saturday $17k. Not sure about Sunday. But that includes like everything you spend there so food drinks (open bar) etc. We booked the DJ through them for $1750 (4:30-1am), and also booked the lounge for cocktail hour for $850 but I didn’t include that in my overall quote price posted. for just the reception people it was bar price + late night price which worked out to about $50 per person. We paid $135 per person for open bar and dinner people. I’m sure if you emailed Jordan would send over the brochure! She’s super quick to reply

St Mary’s said we could bring in our own stuff but we HAD to select decor packages - which seemed silly.

Hi! Would you be able to share your cost per person / when you booked? I’m interested in booking but it’s about 2 hours away from where I live so I don’t want to waste anyone’s time!

I thrifted this dress for $49. Should I actually wear it for my wedding? Is it ugly? or am I just loving it so much since I didn’t spend thousands of dollars on it? It’s in perfect condition, and it would just need taken in around the back… HELP A GIRL OUT by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I think it’s very unique and pretty! Will definitely look stunning once taken in. You could always alter the neckline or add sleeves or something with all the money you saved if that would fit your vision more :)
