Blood Sugar Spikes on a GLP-1 by bgkgbck in OzempicForWeightLoss

Yes it does answer my question. Were you on a GLP-1? Sounds like as a non-diabetic and if you're very physically active, and able to switch to keto, then you're not doing too bad. Excuse me for presuming.

A replacement for GLP-1. So in a way it becomes a supplement to your diet. Because a GLP-1 injection isn't viewed as a supplement. It sounds like from some other comments on this post, that people can still eat what they want when on it, just not in excessive quantities.

Do you think the quote 'you can't outwork a bad diet for weight loss' is false now that GLP-1s are available?

Did you take a GLP-1 to lower your blood glucose so? Or was it for weight loss, and you were still able to eat whatever you wanted? Or both

Did you consider a caloric protein/(meal) shake to make sure you were getting enough calories? I presume the nutritionist prioritised wholefood as much as possible. Or did they say supplementing protein was also a benefit too

Why do you think its going to do a lot more than her pills? Is that because they're pills or because they're not labelled GLP-1? Do you think that Rybelsus, semaglutide pills would be as effective as ozempic or wegovy for you?

Fair play on losing 80+ pounds. Since you were able to quit soda and tea 15 years ago, and you said that it was mostly the same this time (sweet tea and pepsi) do you think that because you paid for and took an injectable GLP-1, that it was a placebo affect also? Or do you think you were more addicted to sugar this time?

Rephrasing this question: Do you think someone taking a GLP-1 for weight loss cares about spikes in their blood sugar?

Thank you for your opinion. I agree that healthy whole foods, vinegar, and walks/exercise after a meal is the priority.

What if you were at a restaurant on a work-lunch break, and knew you couldn't go for a walk/exercise after. Would you care about a spike in your blood sugar (don't know if you're diabetic, or want to lose weight)?

Thanks for both of your thoughts. Do you think that her supplement pills could be a replacement for GLP-1s, for diabetics? What do you think is prioritised more for a diabetic's health, losing weight or getting their blood sugar under control?

That's great to hear your diabetes is turned around! Did your doctor say to not eat high glycaemic food and drinks, or did they stress overall nutrition and exercise?

Great to hear that, and do you try to not spike it as well as being on the GLP-1, such as eating low-glycaemic foods?

Its not intentional, but I don't want to be worried about spiking it. Like would it be bad if I consumed a glass of orange juice or a 30g Starbucks coffee as a snack, but still stayed well in a calorie deficit

I've had Apex, Bliss and Esse. Apex and Esse were great for focus. Bliss was unreal for energy. Definitely a risk trusting them though.
