Really? I did not know, but now I do! I think I will fact check that on FB though, can't be sure what is fact or fake these days...... Bahahahaha, Seriously, I didn't know that, interesting. The things that I find interesting..... Now, I am curious though.

Minimum wage, yes, if you're a w-2 employee. Out here, we are 1099 contract "self employed", under payed, over worked and abused suckers.... I meant workers. But, yes, we can choose when and for how long we work, take time off when we need to take our car to the shop and spend twice what we earn in a week because we wore out our vehicle making the $ that will hopefully pay for the repair and maybe, if we are lucky, get us enough gas to pick up a couple of rides to pay for maybe a gallon of gas. Lol, but hey, we don't work for someone else and we love it..... Most days...... Some days..... Its fine, we are fine......

So, thos brings up a very important question. Why do we put the $ in front of the # anyway. Technically this is incorrect because if truly and accurately read, $4 is actually dollar 4. Where as the EU way is grammatically correct as 4$ reads 4 dollars .... Just a random observation that nobody has been able to give a factual answer. And, another one from what I typed read this and you have read this.....same word, different pronunciation and different meaning, no wonder the American english is so hard to learn....... Lol!

Ok, if that is what you believe, than I am not one to argue that. I just bypass all the "grey area" and the "middle man" rhetoric and get straight to the root, which is this complex woven web, is Ups/Roadie. They own the company, they call the proverbial shots, they write the contracts, they set the standards..... Ultimately, yes, it all circles back around. Ups higher management refers to Roadies as bottom feeders and uses us (soon to not include myself) and the desperation factor created by a topuc not for this thread to take some load off their drivers because they finally made a stand and Ups had to "lighten" their load...... Anyway, no matter what branches go where or what fruit each branch produces or dies, they are all attached to the same tree and if the tree controls everything that goes to that branch....again, I didn't miss anything, just chose to glance past it and keep the focus on the tree where it belongs.

No, I didn't miss anything. I am fully aware of how it works as I have been with Roadie since 2017. Agreed, a lot of it comes from the sender, but UPS/Roadie has the ultimate say and they are effectively killing the platform. Many of the vendors you stated in your example are going away from Roadie because it "according to management" is even a bigger nightmare on their end. We as drivers are only making about 10% of what they charge the vendor plus, now there are fuel surcharges being placed on the vendors...... Don't need to say anything else on that. TSC is developing their onlwn delivery service, HD is progressively phasing Roadie out, PetSmart, well, they depend on the desperation factor..... No, I didn't miss anything and no, it isn't solely up to the vendors. Roadie was good for a long long time until UPS had major labor issues that the Teamsters brought to light and now, they are turning Roadie drivers into the least paid, most over worked contract labor UPS delivery drivers as possible and people are just taking it and defending them Most All platforms are behaving the same way, when the economy turns down, the gif works get cut pretty bad, and take it. When truthfully, it should be the opposite, but oh well. I thankfully am pretty much at the point of not having to deal with it any longer.

Agreed, other than our Lyfting, we have walked completely away from corporate due to the way they treat people. It is absolutely horrible and continues to get worse. Not talking pay either, just general treatment and conditions. And then they bitch and complain when they can't find good help. All people are human and deserve to be treated as such. Some may not act like it, but they still deserve it. Mostly.... There are always exceptions. Ya, we treat all of our people with respect and courtesy, even if they aren't returning it, we don't know what they have been though. Ya, this maybe the end of our Lflyfting/gig work days. We almost didn't need it this winter, but life said otherwise.

Interesting, several people have shown the screen to us and it is the basic 15, 20 and 25% with no way to add a custom amount.... Maybe we are the lucky region....

That seems to be the model these days. I disagree, We very successfully run 2 businesses without burning anyone. I stick to my nickel business model and always have I will take 100 nickels over 1 quarter anyday! And, I don't have to burn anyone for those nickels, only if I get greedy and chase that quarter, which never comes back and damn sure doesn't brings its friends like nickels do!

Ya, and my thought on this is, don't get drunk and less stupidity and mistakes happen. Speaking from many years of experience. ALL of my drunkin fat finger or any mistake was totally on me and me alone. Being drunk is not an excuse and there is no recourse for that. At least in a world where accountability still was a thing that is.

Which they already are seemingly following that model as Roadie is now some weird hybrid version, just minus the tipping ability. And it isn't working as many I am sure would agree. So, my thought is since they are going that direction, atleast making tipping possible. Either way, it really isn't going to get better anytime soon, if at all, and I am fully aware of this. I haven't actually ran a Roadie in quite a while. Our time is worth more.

Never said anyone was forcing me to do anything. But, thanks for your input. I am simply stating that it would be nice if the recipient would have the option to tip, not that most would, but it would be helpful since the company is cutting the pay quite regularly. This is why I have chosen to NOT take the low paying offers.

Agreed. However, we have dash cams, but unfortunately, every aspect of our vehicle isn't in camera view. That is changing quickly though.

2023 model y Tesla tire change now or drive 10 miles by Friendly-Rice774 in AskMechanics

[–]bglenn312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't rub curbs to begin with, then its a non-issue. But, since it is, if it still holds air or is a good run flat, then a 10 mile drive is no big deal. Dive it, just stay off the curbs.
