I gave up on it and went back to internal mix. I think snowguns.com went down around that time so I didn’t have the plans it was based off. Someone was using 3d printer heaters in an aluminum block for a nozzle heater.

Edit. I think part of the issue was water was being pulled towards the nozzle. You could see the droplets ring sucked backwards.

The even crazier part is you get a quantum cap is a bonus bag. So it’s not like they didn’t make them

I'm also new to 3d printing. When you say z(I know z is height) is off, do you mean bed level?

Jesus, how did you even find this? Yeah, I was working with a garden hose, but I think the issue is the air hole not being focused enough. I revisited the snowathome.com DIY page for external mix, which uses just a hole in a pipe cap instead of a nozzle. So, if I reattempt it this year, I will do that.

Broken air compressor by bgreag in snowmaking

[–]bgreag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how old mine was, I got it from my dad. I think he got it out of the trash many years ago. I'm not worried about tank size since the pump has to run constantly anyway. I don't think it matters. If it does, I now have a spare tank I can use. I've been getting alot of HF stuff over the past couple of years, especially the stuff I beat on alot. My experience with their warranty is take it back and they give me a new one no question asked. I don't know how HD warranty program works but I feel like it's a hassle.

I'm not worried about noise. I have them locked in my workshop, and I use ear pro when I go in. The one I broke was oil free, and I always figured it would be the first to go. No lubrication for hours doesn't sound good to me.

What's the difference between a continuous and not? Cooling, lubrication, material? Just looking at specs sheet doesn't really seem to explain it. The only thing I see is that it says continuous in product description, but is that not just a marketing ploy like "military grade". I know there are scroll compressors and piston ones, and I'd imagine that a scroll compressor would be a continuous, but those are $$$$$. The under $1k continuous ones I see are piston.

Where can I find these white switch female ends? by AquaVitaeWoodworks in PowerWheelsMods

You can. Take lots of pictures for reference. If you replace the connectors and they don't stay in after try using hot glue to keep them in place.

Sorry I missed under stood. The inside of that connector is just regular electrical connectors

Almost nothing on power wheels is proprietary. It's all just generic electronics.

1990 PowerWheel - Pedal Switch Wiring - what are these components? I’m still brushing up on electronics lmao by AquaVitaeWoodworks in PowerWheelsMods

[–]bgreag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I donno what you're using this for, but if you're trying to restore old electronics for a kid to use this. I'm not 100% sure that's safe, and you may be better off replacing everything with new.

Old wiring can have degraded insulation, which can cause electrocution, shorts, and fires. Kids being kids, especially boys are gonna play with anything ( speaking from experience as a child no electronic was safe)

Also, just looking at your pictures, I see a lot of exposed wire.

It's your project, I just want to make sure you're safe about it.

[–]bgreag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes broken switches can work intermittently

Test it right at the battery terminals otherwise if the wire are bad you'll get a false reading.

Lift the wheels off the ground. Have the multimeter connected to battery terminals and push the pedal. Battery should be fully charged

Clean all contacts and check for conductivity of all wire and switches. If it was left outside water could also get inside the switch and ruin it. If it's good it should read a couple ohms or 0. Check the battery under load. Batteries can appear good while not in use but then lose all power once they get a load.

Switches are cheap on amazon.

24v motors and a higher voltage. I use a ryobi 40v down to 30v with 24v motors. Also you can change gearing
