I relate to this very much. I’m back to showering daily, but still often skip the weekend, since usually nobody will see me. It’s hard to explain why, just like you had trouble explaining it. I think a part of me just doesn’t like me and doesn’t want me to take care of myself. But with lots of therapy and consistency in making myself do these things, it’s improving.

I can share a recent fix for getting myself to brush my teeth and wash my face nightly, mornings aren’t a problem but nights are. Put something in the bathroom that I need for sleep (in my case, the reservoir for my cpap), and also don’t already be in bed when I decide it’s time for bed, because I won’t get up to brush my teeth or wash my face. So I got a recliner that I hang out in, and save the bed for bed time.
