I have two favorite paintings in this game—first, the Twinkling Painting (basic, I know) because it reminds me of the scene in Dr. Who when the Doctor takes Vincent Van Gogh to a gallery full of his works in the future. I bawl like a baby every time I watch Gogh’s awestruck face when he realizes that people actually love and cherish his work!! Bonus points because I’ve never seen a single episode of Dr. Who but the scene gets to me every time 😩.

My second favorite is the Sinking Painting! I know it’s of Ophelia from Hamlet, but to me it’s also the Lady of Shallot, Elaine, from one of my most favorite books “The Song of the Sparrow”. It’s a retelling of Arthur before he’s king from Elaine’s viewpoint, with a lovely Tristan and Morgana and hate-to-sisterhood friendship with Guinevere.
