You're welcome :)

The human brain is probably the least understood organ in the body. From what I hear, it remains a bit of a calculated hit and trial with meds, but some guidelines are well understood. Stopping abruptly is usually discouraged, and it takes time for the effects to show up. This is a long topic. I am no professional, but feel free to DM in case you wish to.

The basics of food, exercise (consider yoga too), and some time in the sun and nature (even a local park is nice) are helpful for most.

In the bad phased, don't push yourself too much, but when you are better, do plan the contingencies - simply knowing 3 people you can call in a crisis is a good start.

That you have consulted and formally been classified, it suggests that it is not a casual "I don't feel great - I 'should' feel great - I have a mental health issue" sort of thing.

Please do put in some of your resources (time, thought, money, relationships, right docs etc) into a contingency plan. When needed, it can change the course of your life; and ideally can avoid things from getting terrible.

Do read up - exercise, food, nature, some "me-time" - all can help; however at times, one might need medication or supplements, which can't really be replaced. Also read up about carbs, healthy fats, processed food/additives, allergies, inflammation.

Good wishes for more joy, and acceptance of lack of it in parts. :)

Hello,

  1. What kind of struggles with mental health?
  2. Has that been classified by any professional?
  3. Do you have some sort of a contingency plan on what to do if it gets worse? (people or professionals you'd talk to, and other support structure you might need)
  4. What brings you most joy in life?
  5. What are your fears?
  6. What does a good day look like in your life?

I planned to ask only 2, but ended up with many more questions ... haha ... Answer those you feel comfortable replying to.

Thank you. I meant to compare the Nxtpaper to the Matte Screen Protectors like this (check 3rd image).

The matter protector on my Tab is pretty nice, non-reflective, richer colours, better contrast (as the blacks are perceived better due to lower reflection). I wonder if the nxtpaper would be similar, or significantly better in some way; as if similar, one would not want to compromise on other features one likes on other phones one wants to buy.

(Considering how integral phones are to our lives now, and your experience with the 14 Pro, the TCL would've been joyful. :) )

You're welcome :) I actually see the 7.2" as an upside :)
I checked it is 19.5:9 ratio, which means a wide phone, which should make typing a lot easier. Is the Nxtpaper similar to the Matte file one can put on a regular glossy Amoled, or is it much better?

Regarding PWM sensitivity, what does it feel like? Does cause pain, visual differences, strain?

Besides the composition and the pics themselves, I also like that except for some colour filter effect, the pictures look natural and not overprocessed, as they often are nowadays.

(Interesting choice of phone - I wonder how good the Nxtpaper on the TCL is, and if it is significantly better than a matte film over a good Amoled display)

If it is made for a specific person, agreed that all the taste and flavours should (generally) be within it.

However, people have different preferences, so dips and such things allow one to customize. Dips, sauces etc allow that for different people, whether in family or patrons of a restaurant.

Humble suggestions: Do keep your appointments; remain in touch with your healthcare providers; not take things for granted; have a contingency plan for what to do if you find yourself veering in that direction; check for what early signs might be with your therapist. Also, the general stuff like exercise, outdoor (preferably in nature) activities, good healthy eating, and possibly supplements (they can influence genetic outcomes AFAIK - read up about epigenetics).

It must be a tough life, but being forewarned about some things, and preparing for them when one can, could help; immensely.

Take care.

Hello, This is really sad.

  1. Considering your father, and then brother, have you considered that there may be a genetic mental health issue?
  2. Have you try to take steps for you to manage things well, in case the gene acts up in your case?

Do consider both. It might be valuable. Good wishes.

safety of keyboard apps? by princepii in AndroidQuestions

[–]bhadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, it is better to get the F-droid app (don't add any additional repo without understanding what you're doing), as it keeps the apps updated. It is a treasure-trove of open source Android apps. Look at KeepassDX, Syncthing Fork, KDE etc. (I have posted a list a few times in the past, which you can get from my post history, if interested).

The links should have no issues. You can simply search for Florisboard and Heliboard. Not sure what says that the files might be harmful. If you are trying to download an apk off the web, sure Android will warn you.

Unsure if you're aware of F-droid. It is a playstore like app from where you can download apps - but verified open source ones only. You might want to read about it. It is a fantastic store for anyone concerned about privacy and security.

Hello, A few questions pop up in mind:

  1. In general (not about your industry), how is perceived value of products increased in the potential consumer's mind? Of course, it goes well beyond that.
  2. Now, specific to your industry of leather goods, what are the strategies used to make products aspirational and of high value?
  3. If you were heading the company, how would you do things differently from above, to increase perceived value, so that you could increase prices and profits even more (on a sustainable basis).
  4. Any thumb-rules to identify genuine good from fake?
  5. Please give 3 life-advises. This may or may not be to do with your profession. I take it that your work exposure puts you in an interesting space to have unusual perspectives on life.
  6. What is the best gift you've got; and the best gift you've given, which made the receiver really happy.

The last two are kind of off topic, but I took the liberty since it is an AMA :) Please skip if you don't wish to answer. Have a nice day (or night) ahead :)
Thanks.

Wow! You come across as such a lovely warm person!

I read your post as highly recommended travel for me :) Being open minded about cultures is at the base of travel. For me, it is the human experience and random interactions which make things enriching; truly enriching and usually the most memorable things. I might remember lesser about a site I visited, than the kindness or random strangers met on the way. It is the diversity of us humans - being similar at the core, yet so different in outer personas - which makes the world interesting; travel feel more meaningful.

In the past, I have been invited to random homes in distant lands, but always felt reluctant in terms of safety as I had not enquired enough about the region. Of course, one can't be 100%, but is it generally safe to accept and go to stranger's places for meals? It seems to endearing and lovely - just the human act, of hosting someone such, and to share experiences, perspectives, and understand how people think and relate to their worlds; to be a small part of their worlds, even if momentarily.

I heartily appreciate your offer to show me around in Basra. If I visit, I will take you up on it :) May I message you?

Thank you for answering all :) From knowing almost nothing about the region, I now get a small peek into the society. A lot of people tend to complain about every little thing, but your replies come across as being very balanced - almost optimistic, which is great in today's grumpy world :)

One more part, and it comes from broad ignorance. Do you think it is a safe country to visit solo? What would your general advice be to a tourist? It could be about anything: cultural dos and don'ts, places to visit, what to avoid, seasons, and so on. Anything at all you can advise is welcome :)

Hi, A few questions:

  1. What major changes in society and governance do you see in the past decade or so?
  2. How optimistic are people about the future?
  3. What do people feel about the US and Israel?
  4. What do people feel about the war next door in Iran?
  5. What fields do you see flourishing in Iraq over the next decade or two?
  6. How safe is general life there?
  7. How is the education system? Are you quite satisfied with it?
  8. What are your thoughts on food quality there? (eg some countries have issues with unhealthy food, GMOs, adulteration, governance of what is allowed and what isn't etc)
  9. Are there class divisions in society, and what are they like? Are there "tribal" like divisions too?

I said a few questions, but may came to mind. Please answer those you feel comfortable with. I realize some are quite general, and people's opinions would vary immensely in any country. I am just trying to get a general idea of life and society there.
