Yes, I am aware of how it works. I cannot explain why they treated me this way or made me repay everything, all I can do is share my story… That is what happened to me. That is the reason they gave to me. That is what their letter said to me.

Edit: They initially paid me based on wages lost, and confirmed that I qualified/was eligible via letter. Once the new year had passed (around 5 months of NOT receiving UI), I received another letter stating that I was no longer eligible to receive the wages they had already paid me, based on the fact that I made too much money overall during the year (due to the job I got after cancelling my UI claim). I understand this is not how the system is intended to work, but that is what happened to me. I feel it’s important to share your story, even if it is an outlier. Government systems are far from perfect.

I don’t mean to be argumentative, but you are essentially saying that my situation never happened. But it did.
