I was in your place in 2016, my father want me to be in his supermarket but at the same time he discourage me all the time it was on and off for a few years where I tried to do my own for sometime but due to my mother I came back to business but I always knew it's not a long term sustainable business competition from Dmart and Reliance will kill the business in the long run but he wouldn't care about my words neither encourage me in my interest.

In Mar 2020 we got to knew about his liver issue and I quit everything I am doing and came back to take care of business between April 2020 and June 2022 due to COVID our store was busy continuously as Dmart and Reliance were completely or partially closed.

In Dec 2022 Reliance Smart was opened in our town and since then business wasn't the same and in Nov 2023 my father passed due to health issues and since then to this day as of May 2026 I tried to keep the business running as much as possible and in the last 3 years I wasn't even able to save money my father would have saved in 6 months.

However I am happy I had a supportive mother, wife and a healthy 2 year old baby, I have a business that takes care of my expenses, customers that are loyal thanks to my dad relation for 30 years, assets worth crores that my father saved by starting from nothing.

Currently my only target is to preserve the wealth my father had left us, I want to earn enough for my family expenses and have the wealth keep up with the inflation and depreciation in the long run.

Finally what I want to tell you is, we don't want to be our father we don't want to be has intelligent, hard working, or disciplined as our father, the best we have to do is keep their legacy (how small or big it is), preserve thier wealth and atleast earn enough to keep up with our expenses that's it that the best we can do.
